Well, let me tell you somethin’ about that 2017 Warriors roster. That was a team, I tell ya! They was somethin’ else. You know, back in 2017, them boys was playin’ some ball. They was winnin’ and winnin’, and folks couldn’t get enough of ’em.

Now, I ain’t no expert on this basketball stuff, but I know what I saw. And what I saw was a bunch of fellas who knew how to put that ball in the hoop. That Stephen Curry, shoot, he was like a magician with that ball. Swish, swish, nothin’ but net. He was the point guard, runnin’ the show. Goodness gracious, he was fun to watch.
And that Klay Thompson, he was a shootin’ guard, I reckon. He could shoot from anywhere, just like Curry. They was a dangerous pair, them two. You give ’em an inch, and they’d take a mile. They were always in the top 20, all of them qualified players. They called him “Splash Brother” alongside with Curry. They were really somethin’ else.
Then there was that tall fella, Kevin Durant. He was a small forward, whatever that means. He could do it all, though. Shoot, dribble, pass. He was like a one-man army out there. He and the other two made that team super powerful, winning 58 games in the 2017-18 season!
- Stephen Curry – Point Guard
- Klay Thompson – Shooting Guard
- Kevin Durant – Small Forward
They had some other fellas too, but I can’t rightly recall all their names. There was that Green fella, Draymond Green. He was tough, always scrappin’ and fightin’ for the ball. They said he was important to the team, even though he didn’t score as much as them other fellas. And some big guys, always gettin’ them rebounds. They really have a great 2017-2018 Warriors roster and stats.
I remember folks talkin’ ’bout how they was the best team ever. I don’t know about all that, but they sure was good. They won the championship that year, you know. Beat that LeBron James fella and his team. It was a big deal. Everybody was talkin’ about it. Even my old man, who don’t care nothin’ ’bout basketball, he was watchin’ them games.

They had a good coach too, Steve Kerr. He seemed like a smart fella. He knew how to get them boys to play together. He’s a good coach, always calm like. He’s part of the reason why they were so successful, that 2017 Warriors team. He led them well, I gotta give that to him.
It was a fun time, watchin’ them Warriors in 2017. They was excitin’ to watch, and they brought a lot of joy to folks. Even us old folks who don’t know much ’bout the game, we could appreciate what they was doin’. It was like watchin’ a well-oiled machine, everyone doin’ their part.
They had a whole bunch of players on that roster. Too many to name I think. But they all contributed in some way. That’s what made them so good. They was a team, through and through. From top to bottom. From the star players to the bench, they all were important. They have so many good players, such as a guy called De’Anthony Melton, and another guy, more commonly referred to by his initials “TJD”, his name is Trayce Jackson-Davis. These two are good players too.
I remember hearin’ folks say they was gonna win for years to come. Well, nothin’ lasts forever, I reckon. But for that one year, in 2017, them Golden State Warriors was on top of the world. And it was somethin’ special to witness. Even for an old gal like me.
Now, you young folks might not remember them days, but I do. And I’m tellin’ ya, that 2017 Warriors roster was one for the ages. They was a team that folks will be talkin’ ’bout for a long, long time. They was that good. You can check their news, schedule and players stats online, but I’m tellin’ ya, they are worth your time!

So, there you have it. My two cents on that 2017 Warriors team. Hope you enjoyed my little story. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think my stories are over and I gotta go tend to my chickens.
