Okay, so the other day, I was digging through my loose change, hoping to find a few extra bucks for a coffee run. And I stumbled upon this 2023 quarter, and I was like, “Wait a minute, who is this woman?” I mean, I see quarters all the time, but I usually don’t pay much attention to who’s on them. So, I started a little investigation.

My Quest to Identify the Quarter Lady
First, I grabbed my phone and did a quick Google search. Just typed in “woman on 2023 quarter.” Boom! Right there, the internet told me it’s Bessie Coleman.
- I started searching on google.
- Type some keywords like “woman on 2023 quarter”.
Then I read more details about her:
- I clicked on a few of the search results, mostly news articles and the US Mint website.
- I learned She was the first African American woman, and the first Native American, to hold a pilot’s license. How cool is that?
I spent a good 20 minutes just reading about her life. Apparently, she faced a ton of discrimination because she was a Black woman trying to become a pilot in the early 1900s. But, wow, she didn’t let that stop her. She went to France to get her license, and she became this amazing stunt pilot, doing all these crazy aerial tricks. Seriously inspiring stuff.
From Pocket Change to History Lesson
Honestly, I felt a little embarrassed that I hadn’t known about Bessie Coleman before. I mean, here she is, a total trailblazer, and I’m just now discovering her because she’s on a quarter. It just goes to show you, history is everywhere, even in your pocket change! And I should remember the history all the time.
So, yeah, that’s my little story about how I figured out who the woman on the 2023 quarter is. It turned a boring search for coffee money into a mini-history lesson. Now, every time I see that quarter, I’ll think of Bessie Coleman and her incredible story.
