Well, I heard that boy Aric Almirola, he’s gonna be racin’ in that Martinsville race again. He’s a good boy, that one. He done won there before, you know. This time it’s in 2024, so they say. Heard it’s part of that Xfinity thingamajig. They got a whole schedule for these races, Lord knows how many.
Last time I heard, he was drivin’ that number 20 car. It was all white and had some writin’ on it. “He Gets Us” is what it said. They say it is a Toyota. He was leadin’ for a good long while, that boy. He sure knows how to handle that little car on that track. Some folks say he was leadin’ for, I think it was, 150 laps out of 250? That’s a whole heap of laps! Sounds like he was the best one out there, no doubt about it.
This Martinsville place, it’s down in Virginia somewhere. I ain’t never been, but I hear tell it’s a short track. Ain’t nothin’ like them big ol’ tracks they got elsewhere. They say it’s just a little over half a mile around. They gotta go round and round that thing 500 times! My head would be spinnin’ just watchin’ ’em!

This ain’t the only race they’re doin’ in Virginia, neither. They’re always racin’ somewhere. I reckon that’s what them drivers do. They just go from place to place, racin’ them cars. It’s a whole different world, that’s for sure. They’ve got the final race of this year at some place called Phoenix. It is in the desert they say. That’s a long way from here.
Some fella named Earnhardt is gonna be there too. He’s got some fancy car called a “Synergy Modular Supra.” I don’t know what any of that means, but it sure sounds fancy. They say he’s got a lot of enthusiasm. Well, I reckon you gotta be excited to drive them cars round and round like that.
