Okay, so I wanted to figure out how to write 9/40 as a percent. It’s one of those things that seems simple, but I always second-guess myself, you know?

My Process
First, I grabbed my phone – calculator app to the rescue! I typed in 9, then hit the divide symbol, and then 40. The screen showed 0.225. That’s the decimal form, but I needed a percentage.
I remembered that moving the decimal point two places to the right turns a decimal into a percentage. So, I did that in my head.
- Started with: 0.225
- Moved the decimal: 22.5
And there it is! 22.5%
To double-check, I can multiply 40 with 22.5% and I got a result of 9, then I knew I did all process perfectly.
It took all of, like, two minutes, but now I feel way more confident about these kinds of conversions.
