Alright, listen up, y’all. Let me tell ya somethin’ about this here… whatchamacallit… Def Leppard and Journey show comin’ to San Diego. Yeah, them fellers, the rock ‘n’ roll singers.
So, I heard on the radio, or maybe it was my grandson tellin’ me, that these bands, Def Leppard and that other one, Journey, they’re gonna be playin’ at that big ol’ Petco Park. Petco Park, that’s where them Padres play ball, ya know? Big place, lots of seats. Gonna be a whole lotta folks there, I reckon.
Now, they sayin’ this is a big deal, a “co-headlining tour.” That means both them bands is important, I guess. Like two roosters in the same hen house, both wantin’ to crow the loudest. They got another band with ’em too, somethin’ about a fella named Steve Miller. He’s got a band too. They all gonna play music for ya.
They gonna play a whole mess of songs, near fifty they say! Can ya believe that? Fifty songs! That’s a lot of strummin’ and singin’. Steve Miller, he’s gonna play for an hour, and then them other two, Def Leppard and Journey, they gonna each play for an hour and a half. That’s a long time to be sittin’ and listenin’, but if you like that kinda music, I guess you’ll be happy as a pig in mud.

- Journey plays for 90 minutes.
- Def Leppard plays for 90 minutes, and they’re the main ones.
This here show, they callin’ it the “Summer Stadium Tour 2024.” Sounds fancy, huh? They got some other bands taggin’ along too, like Heart and Cheap Trick. I ain’t never heard of none of ’em, but I guess they’re popular with the young folks. These bands, they say they’re “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Icons.” Icons, huh? Like them pictures they got in church, I guess. But these fellers, they ain’t singin’ no church music, that’s for sure.
One of them singers, I dunno which one, he was sayin’ they gonna “[expletive] Seattle up.” Now, I don’t hold with that kinda language, but I guess he’s just excited to play his music. He probly just means they gonna have a real good time playin’ up there. They plannin’ to have a real good time in San Diego too.
This here show is on Friday, August 30, 2024. That’s a ways off, but if you wanna go, you better get yourself some tickets. They sellin’ ’em online, I hear. Vivid Seats, they call it. You can find all sorts of tickets there, not just for this show, but for all kinds of things. Pitbull, Lionel Richie, some fella named Sleep Token… Sounds like a whole lotta noise to me, but to each their own, I always say.
Anyways, if you like that rock ‘n’ roll music, this here show might be just the ticket for ya. Just remember to bring your earplugs, cause them fellers like to play it loud! And don’t forget your dancin’ shoes, if you’re into that kinda thing. Me, I’ll just stay home and watch my stories, but you young folks, go on and have yourselves a good time.
