Okay, so I wanted to figure out who was starting for the Sacramento Kings tonight. It’s game day, and I always like to know who’s going to be on the court.

Digging for the Lineup
First, I opened my go-to sports app. I’ve got a few, but sometimes they’re slow to update. Nothing there yet. It happens, especially closer to game time.
Next up, I hit the team’s official Twitter account. They are usually pretty good about posting the starting five, sometimes with a cool graphic or something. I scrolled through their recent tweets, but no luck. Probably still too early, I’m guessing.
Then I checked a couple of the big sports websites. They have people whose whole job is to know this stuff, so I figured they’d be on top of it. I scanned the articles and headlines, but still nothing definitive.
Getting Closer (Maybe!)
I decided to broaden my search and just googled “Sacramento Kings starting lineup tonight.” Lots of stuff popped up, mostly news articles from earlier in the day or previews from yesterday. Still no answer.
- I found a few fan forums. Lots of speculation, some educated guesses, but nothing confirmed. It’s always fun to see what other fans are thinking, but I need something solid.
- I also remembered that sometimes, beat writers will tweet out the starting lineup before the official accounts do. I tracked down a couple of Kings beat writers on Twitter and checked their feeds. Bingo!
The Reveal!
One of the beat writers tweeted it out about an hour before tip-off. Success! Now I know who to expect on the court to start the game. It’s always a bit of a waiting game, but it’s worth it to be in the know.
