So, I saw this “line of golf balls” thing and I was like, “What the heck is that?” I gotta try it out, right? So, I grabbed my clubs and a bucket of balls and headed to the driving range.

First thing, I picked a target. Just like any other practice, you need something to aim for. I chose a flag out in the distance.
Next, I laid down the first golf ball,This first ball is going to be the one in the bucket. I’m using it to line up my shot.
- I put this ball about a foot in front of where I’d normally put it when taking the shot.
- Make sure this ball is directly lined up with your target, in this case, is that flag.
Then,I dumped the rest of the balls.I just dumped my bucket of balls so they formed a straight line. I don’t take balls from the bucket, all the balls are on the ground, starting right after the first ball.
Then I just start hitting balls from the new line I just created. No picking the balls up, all on the ground one after another.
I kept going down the line, hitting each ball. It felt a little weird at first, not teeing up each ball individually, but I quickly got used to it.

It actually turned out to be a pretty good drill! It really forced me to focus on my alignment and making clean contact. My shots started getting straighter and more consistent as I went through the line.
By the end of the bucket, I felt like I had a much better sense of my swing and my alignment was definitely improved. Plus, it was kind of fun to do something a little different at the range.
I’ll definitely be trying this “line of golf balls” thing again. It’s a simple, but effective way to work on your game. And it is really simple and easy to perform! Give it a try!
