Okay, so today I decided to try something a little different. I’ve been seeing these “Blue Whale Mickey” things popping up, and, well, I got curious. What the heck even is it? It looks kinda creepy, but also kinda cute? I’m not sure.

First things first, I needed to find some images. I just did a quick image search and, yep, there were a bunch. Some were just drawings, others looked like… toys? Plushies? Hard to tell. I saved a few that looked interesting, just to get a better idea of what I was dealing with.
My DIY Attempt
Then, I got this brilliant (maybe?) idea: I’d try to make one myself! I’m no artist, but hey, how hard could it be? I grabbed some blue felt I had lying around, some stuffing from an old pillow, and some black buttons for the eyes.
- Step 1: I roughly sketched out a whale shape on the felt. It looked… questionable. More like a blob, really.
- Step 2: I cut out two of these blob shapes and started sewing them together. My sewing skills are, shall we say, rustic.
- Step 3: I stuffed that sucker full of fluff. It was starting to look… vaguely whale-like?
- Step 4: Time for the Mickey part! I cut out some big, round ears from the blue felt and sewed those on. Then I added the button eyes.
And the moment that I had been waiting for, I got my own “Blue Whale Mickey”, I put it on my table, and now,It’s kinda lopsided and the stitching is a mess. I had to sew some parts *, to be honest, that kinda adds to the charm, right? It’s definitely… unique. I think I’ll call him “Blobby.”
So, yeah, that was my “Blue Whale Mickey” adventure. It was a fun little project, even if the end result is a bit… special. I put him beside my computer, and maybe I should try something a little less weird next time. But hey, at least I can say I made my own creepy-cute whale-mouse thing!
