Okay, so I finally got around to checking out Poppy Ridge Golf Course, something I’ve been meaning to do for ages. I’d heard good things, and let me tell you, it mostly lived up to the hype.

First things first, I booked a tee time online. Super easy, just a few clicks and I was all set. I went for a weekday morning, hoping to avoid the biggest crowds. Got there a little early to hit the driving range. It was pretty standard, nothing fancy, but enough space to loosen up.
The Course Itself
Poppy Ridge is actually made up of three nine-hole courses: Merlot, Chardonnay, and Zinfandel. I played the Merlot and Chardonnay combo. The fairways are great shape. They look good.
- Merlot: I found this one to be a good, solid start. A few challenging holes, but nothing too crazy.
- Chardonnay: Definitely kicked it up a notch. More elevation changes, and a couple of water features that made things interesting. I may or may not have lost a ball or two… Don’t judge!
The greens were quick. Like, really quick. I definitely three-putted a couple of times when I wasn’t paying close enough attention. My short game needs some work, that’s for sure.
Getting Around
I rented a cart, which I’d recommend. It’s a pretty hilly course, and while walking is definitely doable, it would have been a long day. The carts were in good shape, nothing fancy, but they got the job done.
Overall Experience
It was good golf course, and the price is also great! I enjoyed myself. I’ll probably head back there again sometime and try to tackle the Zinfandel nine. Maybe after I’ve practiced my putting a bit more!

I grabed a burger at the clubhouse. It was awesome!
And That’s all. See you next time!
