Alright, let’s talk about this… what’s it called? Ah, yes, the 2002 Suzuki GSX-R750. Now, I ain’t no fancy mechanic or nothin’, but I know a thing or two about bikes, seen ’em come and go all my life.
This here 2002 model, they say it’s somethin’ special. Folks keep jabberin’ on about how fast it is. Fast, fast, fast, that’s all I hear. They say it goes… what was it? A whole lotta miles per hour, somethin’ like 170? That’s faster than my old man’s pickup truck, I tell ya! And they say with a little fixin’ here and there, some kinda pipe and tune-up, it can go even faster, like 180! Land sakes, that’s flyin’!
Now, I don’t know nothin’ about all them numbers and gizmos inside, but I hear it’s got a 749 somethin’ somethin’ engine. Four cylinders, they say. Sounds like a lot of work to me. And it’s got this thing called liquid coolin’. Guess that means it don’t get too hot when you’re zoomin’ around. Smart, real smart.
And the power? They say it’s got somethin’ like 140 horses. Now, I’ve seen horses, big strong fellas, but I ain’t never seen one inside a bike! Guess it’s just a way of sayin’ it’s powerful. Real powerful.
- Engine: 749cc, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled
- Power: 140 horsepower
- Top Speed: Around 170 mph, maybe more with some tweaks
They also talk about the weight. Say it’s light, real light. Somethin’ about 366 pounds. That ain’t much heavier than a sack of potatoes, is it? Makes sense, I guess. Lighter it is, the faster it goes, right? That’s what they tell me, anyway.

And get this, it’s got six gears! Six! My old tractor only had, what, three? Maybe four? I can’t even remember. But six gears, that’s a whole lot of shiftin’ goin’ on. Must be why it goes so fast.
Now, I hear these bikes ain’t easy to find, especially the ones in good shape. Folks call ’em “rare.” Like a good ol’ antique, I reckon. People keepin’ ’em all nice and shiny, tradin’ ’em like gold, I hear. And they ain’t cheap neither. But then again, good things never are.
I saw one for sale the other day. Said it was in “A1 Condition.” Don’t know what that means exactly, but it sounded good. Real good. And the fella was willin’ to trade, too. Said he’d take somethin’ else instead of money. Now, that’s interestin’, ain’t it? Makes you wonder what he’d trade for. Maybe a good cow? Or a couple of pigs? Who knows?
Back in ’85, they say Suzuki started makin’ these things. Changed the whole bike world, apparently. Made ’em faster and lighter, I guess. And this 2002 model, it’s part of that history. Part of somethin’ big. That’s what they say, anyway.
So, there you have it. My two cents on this 2002 Suzuki GSX-R750. Fast, light, and rare. Sounds like a heck of a machine. If you’re lookin’ for speed, this might just be the ticket. But be careful out there, you hear? That much speed, well, it ain’t for the faint of heart. And always wear your helmet, ya hear? Don’t want you bumpin’ your head.

And remember, I ain’t no expert. Just an old woman who’s seen a thing or two. But from what I gather, this here bike, it’s somethin’ special alright.
