Yesterday, my friend Lisa was confused about the “emerald birthday,” and asked me about it. I realized I didn’t know much either, so I decided to do some digging and share what I found.

My Research Process
First, I opened my browser and typed in “what is an emerald birthday.” Many different websites popped up.
Then, I started reading through some of the articles. Some were a bit confusing, but others were pretty clear. I took notes on the key points.
What I Discovered
It turns out, that an emerald birthday isn’t a widely known or celebrated thing. But what I gather is that the “emerald birthday” concept, is simple and fun:
- Your emerald birthday is when you turn the age of the date of your birth.
- For example, if you were born on the 25th, your emerald birthday is when you turn 25.
- Or if you were born on the 5th, your emerald birthday would have been when you turn 5 years old.
Sharing with Lisa
I called Lisa and explained what I learned.I told her that an emerald birthday, is when your age matches the day you were born. She understood right away and thought it was a pretty cool idea.
So, that’s my little adventure into learning about emerald birthdays. Hope this helps if you were curious too!
