Okay, so I’ve been meaning to check out this Ironwood Nine Golf Course in Cerritos. Heard some good things, and honestly, I needed to get out of the house and swing a club.

Getting Started
First thing I did was look it up on my phone – you know, check the address, make sure I didn’t end up at the wrong place. It’s always good to plan ahead, and this time I wanted to be on time.
The Drive Over
The drive was pretty chill. It’s not too far from where I live, so that’s a plus. Put on some tunes, cruised down the freeway. No complaints there.
Arriving and Checking In
Pulled up to the course, and it looked pretty nice. Found a parking spot easily enough. Walked into the, uh, pro shop I guess? Checked in with the guy at the counter. He was friendly, got me all set up with a tee time. No problems at all.
Hitting the Range
I’m not gonna lie, my swing’s been a little rusty lately. So I figured I’d hit the driving range first to warm up. Bought a bucket of balls – standard procedure. Spent a good half hour just trying to find my rhythm. Started out pretty rough, shanking a few, topping a few others. You know the drill.
Playing the Course
Finally felt loose enough to hit the course. It’s a nine-hole course, so it’s not like I was committing to a whole day. The course itself? Pretty well maintained. The greens were in decent shape. The fairways were, you know, fairways.

My game? Well, let’s just say it was a mixed bag. Had a couple of good drives, a few decent approach shots. Putting was… well, putting was putting. Could have been better, could have been worse.
- Hole 1: Bogey. Not a great start.
- Hole 2: Double Bogey…yikes.
- Hole 3: Par! Okay, feeling a bit better.
- Hole 4: Bogey.
- Hole 5: Par.
- Hole 6: Bogey.
- Hole 7: Bogey.
- Hole 8: Par. Nice!
- Hole 9: Bogey to end the match…
Wrapping Up
Finished up the nine holes, headed back to the clubhouse. Grabbed a drink, chatted with a couple of other golfers. Just a nice, relaxed way to spend a few hours. Overall, I’d say Ironwood’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a quick round of golf. I even think I played better on the back nine!
