So, I finally decided to check out Ravines Golf Club the other day. Been hearing bits and pieces about it, figured it was time I actually went and played it myself.

Got in the car and drove over. Finding the place wasn’t too hard. Pulled into the parking lot, seemed like a standard setup. The clubhouse looked, well, like a clubhouse. Nothing too flashy, just functional I guess.
Getting Sorted
Walked inside to pay up. Got my green fee sorted and paid for a cart. You know how it is. The person at the counter did their thing, got me checked in. Didn’t waste much time chatting. Grabbed my clubs from the car and loaded ’em onto the cart. Felt ready to go, or as ready as I ever feel.
Out on the Course
Headed to the first tee. Right away, you understand the name. The ravines are no joke. They’re right there, staring you down on several holes. Makes you think twice before swinging, that’s for sure.
I managed to lose a ball pretty early on. Dropped right into one of those gaps. Felt kinda stupid, but hey, it happens. The course itself was actually in decent shape. Fairways were cut alright, and the greens seemed okay, maybe a little slow but nothing terrible. Played pretty much how you’d expect.
- Hit some okay drives.
- Missed a few greens.
- Had some putts that should’ve dropped but didn’t.
- Found myself in the rough more than I wanted.
Some of the holes were genuinely tough. You really needed to hit a good shot to carry those ravines. No room for error on some approaches. It definitely tests your nerve a bit, especially if your game isn’t sharp.

Playing golf sometimes, you know, it just makes you wonder. You spend the money, spend the time, walk around chasing this little white ball. It’s supposed to be relaxing? Half the time I just get frustrated. But then you hit that one good shot and think, okay, maybe this isn’t so bad. Still, the cost of everything these days… makes you evaluate if hacking it around is really the best use of a day off.
Finishing Up
Finally made it through all 18 holes. Felt pretty tired, honestly. Driving the cart helps, but it’s still a long few hours out there.
Returned the cart where they told me to. Didn’t really feel like sticking around the clubhouse for a drink or anything. Just wanted to head out.
Overall? Ravines was alright. It’s a challenging course, definitely lives up to its name. The conditions were fine. I played my usual, inconsistent game. Lost a couple of balls, naturally. Would I rush back? Probably not immediately. But it was a decent day out on the course. Got me out of the house, anyway. If you like a tough test and don’t mind potentially losing some ammo, give it a shot.
