Right, so the Chelsea versus AC Milan game was on my radar for a while. Big Champions League night, you know? Couldn’t really miss that one. I was actually looking forward to seeing how the two teams would match up, especially with Chelsea’s form being a bit up and down lately and Milan coming in as Italian champs.

Decided to watch this one from home. Got myself sorted on the sofa pretty early, maybe grabbed some crisps and a drink. Faffed about a bit finding the right channel, always takes a minute, doesn’t it? Finally got the pre-match stuff on, just soaking up the atmosphere building up in the stadium through the TV.
Okay, game kicked off. The first part felt a bit cagey, both teams trying to figure each other out. Chelsea seemed to have more of the ball, trying to push. Then, boom, Fofana scored! That livened things up. Shame he got injured later, looked nasty. Milan had a couple of moments, Leão looked dangerous when he got the ball, but Chelsea’s defence held pretty firm for most of the half.
Halftime came. Felt Chelsea deserved the lead based on what I saw. Milan needed to offer a bit more going forward in the second half, I thought. Quick break, topped up my drink, checked my phone quickly, usual stuff.
The second half started and Chelsea just seemed to step it up another gear. Wasn’t long before Aubameyang got the second goal. Good finish. You could sort of feel the game slipping away from Milan at that point. Then Reece James smashed one in! What a hit that was. He was brilliant all night, up and down that right side. After the third goal, it felt pretty comfortable for Chelsea. Milan looked a bit shell-shocked, couldn’t really get back into it.
So, the final whistle blew. 3-0 to Chelsea. A really solid performance from them, much better than I expected maybe. They controlled the game, especially in the second half. Milan were a bit disappointing, honestly. Didn’t really show up like I thought they might. Maybe injuries played a part, but Chelsea were just too good on the night. Felt like a statement win for Potter and his team.

My main takeaways from watching:
- Chelsea looked really organised, especially after the first goal.
- Reece James was outstanding, both attacking and defending.
- Milan missed some key players, maybe, and couldn’t handle Chelsea’s pressure.
- Good goals from Fofana, Aubameyang, and that cracker from James!
Anyway, that was my experience watching it. Decent night of football overall.
