Okay, so I had some time today and thought, let me watch an Anderson Silva video. Been a while since I really watched his old stuff.

Fired up the usual video site, you know. Just typed in “Anderson Silva highlights”. Tons of stuff popped up, obviously. I scrolled for a bit, looking for a good compilation, something that really showed his classic moments.
Found one that looked promising, maybe 10 minutes long. Perfect. Didn’t want a full fight, just the reminders of his skills.
Watching the Clips
So I hit play. Man, right away, you remember how smooth he was. It’s not just the strikes, it’s the way he moved in the octagon. Like he was just playing around sometimes, baiting guys in.
That front kick knockout against Vitor Belfort… I mean, I’ve seen it probably a hundred times, but it still gets me. Just boom, out of nowhere. The precision was crazy.
Then there were clips of his dodging. Weaving his head, slipping punches by just inches. It looked like something out of a movie, but this was real, against guys trying to take his head off.

- The movement was unreal.
- Those pinpoint accurate strikes. Knees, elbows, kicks, punches.
- The confidence, almost like a dance sometimes.
It’s easy to forget just how dominant he was for so long in the UFC. That middleweight run was something else. He made great fighters look average. Watching the clips back-to-back really hammers that home.
It wasn’t just power, it was timing and creativity. Things you didn’t see other fighters doing back then. He really changed the game in a lot of ways.
Finished the video feeling pretty impressed all over again. It’s good to go back and watch the legends sometimes. Reminds you what peak performance looks like in this sport. Just a masterclass in striking, really.
