Alright, so the other day I was thinking, “You know what? I really need to figure out when the Dominican Winter League games are on.” I love following LIDOM, it’s some quality baseball, but if you don’t know the schedule, you’re just shooting in the dark, right?

My first step was pretty standard, I guess. I went to my computer, opened up a browser, and just typed in “Dominican Winter League schedule.” Simple enough, I thought. But man, you get a whole mess of stuff thrown at you. Old articles, links that don’t quite lead where you expect, some stuff from last year. It’s a bit of a jungle sometimes trying to find current info.
Narrowing it Down
I realized pretty quick that I had to be more specific. Just “schedule” wasn’t cutting it. So, I tried adding the current season, like “LIDOM schedule 2023-2024” – or whatever the active season is when you’re looking. That definitely helped to weed out some of the older, irrelevant pages. Getting closer!
I started clicking on a few of the more promising looking results. You kinda have to eyeball it, see what looks like an official league site or a major sports news outlet that would actually have the up-to-date stuff. I avoided the random forum posts and went for things that looked a bit more solid.
Eventually, I landed on a page that seemed to be the real deal. It had the team names, and I could see a section that looked like it was for the game calendar. Sometimes these things are in Spanish, so I was looking for words like “Calendario” or “Juegos.”
- I scanned through to find the start dates.
- Then I looked for my favorite teams, to see their matchups.
- I also tried to get a feel for the general rhythm of the games, like how many per week.
The key thing for me was finding a clear list of who was playing who, and on what dates. Sometimes the times can be tricky too, you gotta make sure you know if it’s local time or if it’s been adjusted for your timezone, but getting the dates sorted was my main goal for this first pass.

So, after a bit of digging and clicking, I finally had what I needed. I bookmarked the page so I can easily go back to it. It wasn’t super complicated, but it did take a little bit of focused searching to get past the noise and find the actual, current schedule. Now I’m all set to follow along with the season. Good stuff!
