Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Derry football schedule, ya know, the one them youngsters are always runnin’ around for. I don’t know much ’bout fancy sports and all that, but I do know when them boys are playin’ ’cause the whole town gets a buzzin’. Heard tell it’s called Derry football schedule, sounds important, I reckon.

First off, ya gotta know when the games are, right? That’s the main thing, like knowin’ when to put the kettle on for a cuppa tea. So, this schedule thingy, it tells ya the dates and times. Like, it’ll say somethin’ like, “Game’s on Friday, the 13th, at seven o’clock.” Not sure why they gotta play on a spooky day like the 13th, but them boys don’t seem to mind none. They just wanna throw that there ball around.
Now, this here schedule ain’t just a bunch of dates and times thrown together like a messy sock drawer. It’s got all sorts of information, if ya know how to look for it. It tells ya who Derry’s playin’ against. Sometimes it’s them fellas from the next town over, sometimes it’s teams from farther away. I swear, some of them team names sound like somethin’ out of a fairy tale, all fancy and whatnot. They’ve got this Derry Trojans Football team, real strong bunch I tell ya.
- Game Dates: Gotta know when to cheer, right?
- Game Times: Don’t wanna miss the kickoff!
- Opponents: Who are them young’uns playin’ against?
- Location: Where the heck is the game at?
And speaking of where they’re playin’, the schedule tells ya that too. Sometimes the games are right here in Derry, at that big ol’ field by the school. Other times, they gotta travel. Means them boys are gonna be tired, all that bus ridin’. The school’s address is 988 N Chestnut St, Derry, 15627, that’s what I heard, but I ain’t never been there myself. Makes me wonder what the Derry Varsity Football team thinks about all that travelling.
This here schedule, it’s also got somethin’ called “rosters,” I think they call it. That’s just a fancy word for the list of players. It tells ya who’s on the team, what positions they play, and all that. Honestly, I can’t keep track of all them names and numbers, too much for this old brain. But the folks around here, they seem to know who’s who. They shout out them players’ names during the game and clap somethin’ fierce when they do somethin’ good.
Now, some folks get real worked up about this football stuff. Heard tell there’s some history behind it all, somethin’ about different groups of people and who supports who. Honestly, I don’t pay no mind to that. It’s just a game, right? Let them boys play, and let us folks enjoy watchin’ ’em. That’s what the Derry High School Football is for ain’t it? Just good fun.

They even got this internet thingy where they put the schedule. My grandson showed me once. It’s all bright and flashy, makes my eyes hurt a little. But I guess it’s handy for them youngsters who are always glued to their phones. They call it the Derry Area Football schedule or somethin’ like that. They got the Derry Area Trojans information all on that there website.
You can also find out things like if it’s a home game or an away game, and what time them young’uns gotta be there. They even got things like “athletic landing page” and “physical forms,” sounds like a whole lot of rigmarole to me. They do love their paperwork, don’t they? I even saw something about “extracurricular activity fee,” sounds like they even want your money now.
And they got these “coaches” too, fellas who tell the boys what to do. I guess that’s important, gotta have someone in charge, or them young’uns would be runnin’ around like chickens with their heads cut off. Seems like they got plenty of folks involved in this whole football thing. And the parents, oh lordy, they get even more worked up than the players sometimes. Yellin’ and cheerin’, bless their hearts.
So, this Derry football schedule, it’s more than just a list of games. It’s a whole thing, a part of the town, ya know? It brings folks together, gives ’em somethin’ to talk about, somethin’ to cheer for. And even though I don’t understand all the ins and outs of it, I do enjoy the excitement. It’s like a big ol’ party, every Friday night in the fall. And that, I reckon, is somethin’ worth celebrating. You can see the Derry Area Athletic landing page for more details, or so I’m told.
