Well, let me tell ya ’bout this FXDR 114, that bike everyone’s been yappin’ about. They say it’s fast, real fast. Folks call it the “FXDR 114”, but all I know is it’s a Harley and it goes like stink.

Top speed, that’s what the young’uns are always askin’ about. I heard tell it can hit somethin’ like 115 miles per hour. Now, I ain’t never been that fast on nothin’, not even a runaway tractor, but that’s what they say. 115 miles per hour, that’s faster than a scalded dog, I tell ya. That’s near about 185 kilometers for them folks who use that fancy metric stuff.
- Fast as a scalded dog
- Goes like stink
This bike, it ain’t no lightweight neither. Weighs in at around 289… somethin’ or other. Pounds, I reckon. Heavy as a sack of potatoes, but it moves like a greased pig on ice. That’s ‘cause it’s got this big ol’ engine, a 114 they call it. Sounds like a whole lotta thunder when you fire it up. Folks say it’s got near ’bout 91 horsepower. Now, I ain’t no horse expert, but that sounds like a whole stampede to me.
They build this here FXDR 114 with some fancy stuff too. Lightweight metals, they say. Composites, whatever that means. All I know is they make it go faster. It ain’t like them old clunkers we used to ride, that’s for sure. This one’s built for speed, built to handle good. They say it handles better than any other Softail Harley made, but I wouldn’t know nothin’ ’bout that. I just know it goes.
And that engine, the 114 V-twin, they call it a Milwaukee Eight. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Well, it sure is powerful. They say it’s got somethin’ called torque, a whole lotta it. 119 pound-feet, they say, at 3,500 somethin’ or others. RPM, I think they called it. Means it pulls hard, like a mule team pullin’ a plow, but way faster. You twist that throttle and this thing just takes off. No muss, no fuss.
Horsepower and Torque, that’s the secret to its speed, I reckon. More horses than a stable and more pull than a team of oxen. That’s what makes it so darn fast. You feel that power right away, soon as you twist that handle. It’s like holdin’ onto a rocket, or so I imagine.

I heard tell they ain’t makin’ these FXDR 114s no more. Discontinued, they said. Fancy word for “gone”. Shame, too, ’cause it’s a fine machine. Real pretty too, with all that shiny chrome and sleek design. But I guess that’s how it goes. They always gotta be changin’ things, makin’ somethin’ new. But for now, there are still some used ones around, if you can find ’em. They ain’t cheap, mind you. Priced higher than a prize-winning bull, but if you got the cash and the need for speed, well, it might just be worth it.
Folks are always lookin’ for the Harley-Davidson FXDR 114 top speed, and like I said, it’s up there around 115 mph. That’s fast enough for anyone, I reckon. Unless you’re tryin’ to outrun the law or somethin’, and I don’t recommend that. This bike ain’t just about speed neither, it’s got the power to back it up. It ain’t no flimsy little scooter, it’s a real motorcycle, built for the open road. Built for speed and built to last, or so they say.
So, if you ever get the chance to ride one of these FXDR 114s, don’t pass it up. Just hold on tight and be ready for a ride. It’s a wild one, that’s for sure. But it’s a Harley, and that means somethin’. It means power, it means freedom, and it means goin’ fast. And that, my friends, is all there is to it. The FXDR 114, a fast bike, a powerful bike, and a Harley through and through.
