Well, let me tell ya ’bout this young fella, Theo Gillen. Folks keep talkin’ ’bout him, so I figured I’d piece together what I heard.
Who is this Theo Gillen, anyway?
Seems like this Theo fella is a big deal, specially for the young’uns. Heard tell he’s a baseball player, and a good one at that. Some folks was yappin’ about him gettin’ picked by a big team, somethin’ called the “Tampa Bay Rays.” Never heard of ’em myself, but they sound fancy.
- He plays shortstop, whatever that is. Sounds like he runs around a lot.
- He went to somethin’ called “Westlake,” must be a school. Good for him, gettin’ an education.
- This “MLB Draft” picked him. Sounds like a cattle auction, but for baseball players. Eighteenth pick, they said. Must be pretty darn good.
What’s all the fuss about?
Now, I ain’t no baseball expert, but from what I gather, this Theo fella is somethin’ special. Folks was sayin’ he’s got “tools,” like he’s fixin’ a tractor or somethin’. But I reckon they mean he’s got skills. He can probably hit that ball a country mile, and run faster than a scared rabbit.
They also say he was gonna go to “Texas,” another school I reckon. But this Tampa Bay team snatched him up quick. Guess they saw somethin’ they liked.

Heard tell he’s on that “Facebook” thing too. All the young folks are on it these days, sharin’ pictures and whatnots. Don’t know much about it myself, seems like a whole lotta fuss over nothin’. But I guess that’s how folks connect nowadays, sharin’ and talkin’ ’bout Theo and his baseball.
He’s a “Prospect,” they say
Them baseball fellas, they call him a “prospect.” Sounds like they’re lookin’ for gold or somethin’. But I guess it means he’s got potential, like a good patch of farmland waitin’ to be planted. They’re watchin’ him, seein’ if he’ll grow into a real star.
Tampa Bay Rays got themselves a player
This Tampa Bay team, they must be real happy to get Theo. They’re talkin’ ’bout his stats, whatever them things are. Numbers and such. Guess they like what they see. They’re prob’ly hopin’ he’ll hit home runs and win ’em games.

And all these news folks, they keep writin’ ’bout him. KXAN, whatever that is, they put him on the TV I hear. And these “Prospects Live” fellas, they’re chattin’ ’bout his skills too. Everyone wants a piece of the story, I reckon.

So, this Theo Gillen, he’s a young fella with a bright future, seems like. He’s got folks talkin’, that’s for sure. From Westlake to the Tampa Bay Rays, he’s made a name for himself. I don’t know much about baseball, but I know a hard worker when I see one. And from what I hear, this Theo fella’s got the grit and the talent to make it big.
