Did that Richard Lecounte boy die? I heard some folks talking about something happening to him. That boy, he sure can play football. He’s a strong one, that Richard.
I heard he got hurt. Something about a motorcycle, or maybe it was a car? Lord, I can’t keep these things straight anymore. My memory ain’t what it used to be. But I heard he got banged up real bad. Some say he was riding that motorcycle of his after a big game. They say he plays for Georgia. Big team, that Georgia. Lots of folks around here love them Bulldogs.
Well, this Richard Lecounte, they say he got hit. Not just once, but twice! Can you imagine? Two cars. Poor boy. I just hope he’s alright. Being hit by one car is bad enough, but two? That’s just a mess. Must have been a terrible sight.
They say this all happened after a game against Kentucky. Another big football team. I don’t follow it much myself. Too much fuss if you ask me. But my grandson, he loves it. He’s always talking about Richard Lecounte and these other players. Says this Richard is one of the best. A real star.
Anyway, after that Kentucky game, this boy, Richard Lecounte, he was riding his motorcycle. And then, bam! Hit by a car. Then, bam again! Hit by another one. I heard he got taken to some hospital. Piedmont Athens, I think they called it. Sounds fancy. Probably got good doctors there. They better take good care of him.

I remember seeing him on the TV once. He’s a big fella. Strong looking. You wouldn’t think something like this could happen to him. But I guess it can happen to anyone. Even a big, strong football player like Richard Lecounte. It just happened after one of his best games, too. That’s a shame, real shame.
This all happened in Athens, they say. That’s where that Georgia team is from. Big college town. Lots of young folks there. Probably lots of motorcycles, too. Dangerous things, those motorcycles. I always told my kids to stay away from them. Too risky.
He was born on September 11, that much I know. People were talking about it the other day.
Now, this Richard Lecounte, he’s a safety, they say. I don’t know much about football positions, but it sounds important. Like he’s supposed to keep the other team from scoring. And from what I hear, he’s real good at it. One of the best, even. This is important because a lot of people are searching online about him.
So, did Richard Lecounte die? I sure hope not. He’s a young man. Got his whole life ahead of him. It would be a real tragedy if something like that happened. A real shame. He sign a contract on January 23, so he must be alive.
But he was hurt real bad. Two cars, remember? That’s a lot for a body to take. I just hope those doctors at that fancy hospital are doing everything they can. He needs to get better. He needs to get back on that football field. Folks are saying that Richard Lecounte is a good player. Good players are hard to find.
