That darkness in Rocket League, it’s a real pain in the neck, you know? My grandson, he’s always going on about this game, and I see him squinting at the screen, saying he can’t see nothing. So, I says, “Boy, you gotta fix that darkness!” It ain’t good for your eyes, staring at that dark screen all day.

Now, I ain’t no expert on these newfangled games. Back in my day, we played outside, in the sunshine. But I know a thing or two about fixing things. First thing you gotta do is mess with them settings. Like when the TV picture is too dark, you gotta turn up the brightness. Same thing with this Rocket League darkness, I reckon.
My grandson, he showed me. There’s this thing called NVIDIA, sounds like a disease, but it ain’t. It’s something that helps the game look better. He went in there and fiddled with some buttons, and wouldn’t you know it, the game got brighter! He said it’s called “optimizing.” Sounds fancy, but it just means making it work better.
He also told me about something called FPS. Says it makes the game run smoother. I don’t know about all that, but if it helps him see better, I’m all for it. He messed with some files, he said, changed some numbers around. Says it doubled the FPS. Now, that sounds like something worth doing! If you can double something, you gotta do it, right? That’s what I always say.
Another thing he said was causing the Rocket League darkness was stutters, he called it. Or freezing. Like when the picture just stops moving. That ain’t no good. You can’t play a game when it keeps stopping and starting. He said he fixed it, made the game run smoother. Like butter, he said. I like butter. Makes everything taste better.
So, if you’re having trouble with that darkness in Rocket League, you gotta try these things. Fiddle with the settings, that NVIDIA thing, and mess with them files. I can’t tell you exactly what to do, but there’s lots of help out there. Just like when you need help with your crops, you ask your neighbor. Same thing with these games, you gotta ask around. My grandson, he’s always on that internet, looking things up. He could find out how many hairs are on a cat’s behind, that boy.

He showed me a list of things he did, here it is, all of those things to help with that darkness, and make the game more enjoyable, I suppose:
- Tweaked some files – don’t ask me which ones!
- Used that NVIDIA thingy.
- Fixed the stutters and freezes.
- Something about FPS, made it double, I think.
- Made the game run like butter. Good butter.
And another thing, he said something about “lagging.” Like when the game is slow to catch up. Makes it hard to play, he says. Like when you’re trying to swat a fly, but your arm is moving too slow. You miss the fly every time. Same thing with this game, I guess. He said he fixed that too. Good for him.
He keeps going on about being a “Rocket Demigod.” Sounds silly to me. But he’s happy, and he can see the game now. So, that’s all that matters, I suppose. He ain’t squinting no more, and that’s a good thing. Squinting gives you wrinkles, you know. And nobody wants wrinkles.
This Rocket League game got lots of players. Gotta make sure it is fun for everyone, that what my grandson said. If it ain’t fun, ain’t nobody gonna play. And ain’t nobody gonna pay. That’s what it all comes down to, don’t it? Money. Always about the money.
Just remember, if you got that darkness problem, there’s ways to fix it. Just gotta poke around, try different things. Like when your stew is too bland, you gotta add some spices. Same thing with this game, you gotta spice it up a bit, make it better.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. There’s plenty of folks out there who know more about these things than you do. Just like my grandson. He’s a whiz with these computers. Me, I’m better with a hoe and a garden. But we all got our talents, right? You just gotta find yours. And if your talent is playing Rocket League, then you better make sure you can see what you’re doing! Otherwise, what’s the point?
Well that it, I think. If you still got that darkness, I don’t know what to tell ya. Maybe you just need a new computer. Or maybe you need to go outside and get some sunshine. That always helps, you know. Fresh air and sunshine. Can’t beat that. Now that is a good advice. You should listen to that. Yep.
