Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with my bike lately, a 2007 Yamaha YZF R6 600, and I wanted to share what I’ve been up to. It all started with just wanting to give the front end a bit of a new look.

First off, I started by taking a good look at the front of the bike. It’s got that classic, aggressive R6 look, but I felt like it could use a little something extra. You know that feeling, right? Like it’s good, but it could be even better. I spent some time just staring at it, thinking about what I could change without going overboard. Looked at the headlights, the fairings, the whole deal.
Then, I started looking online for some inspiration. You know, just browsing through forums, checking out what other people have done with their R6s. There’s a ton of cool stuff out there, from simple mods to full-blown custom jobs. I was mainly looking for ideas for the front end, something that would make it stand out a bit more. I was going through pages and pages of stuff – different headlights, custom fairings, you name it.
- Headlight Options:
- Looked at some aftermarket headlights, but wasn’t sure about the quality.
- Considered doing a projector retrofit, but that seemed like a lot of work.
- Fairing Ideas:
- Saw some cool custom paint jobs, but I wanted something a bit more subtle.
- Thought about getting a new front fairing, but didn’t want to spend too much.
After a while, I decided to keep it simple. I figured a few small changes could make a big difference. I decided to focus on some decals. I found a place online that sells custom decals, and they had a bunch of different options for the R6. I ended up ordering a few different ones, just to see what they would look like. When they arrived, it was pretty fun to try them out, placing them in different spots to see what looked best.
Making the Changes
I cleaned up the front fairing real good, making sure there was no dust or anything. I did some research and found the Yamaha YZF-R6 runs a 120/70/17 front tyre and a 180/55/17 rear tyre. Then, I carefully applied the decals I liked the most. It was a bit tricky getting them on straight, but I took my time and it turned out pretty good. I also decided to add a small “R6” decal in silver towards the front of the fairing. It’s subtle, but it adds a nice touch.
Finally, I stepped back and took a look at the finished product. I gotta say, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s not a huge change, but it definitely gives the front end a bit more personality. It’s amazing how a few small tweaks can make such a difference. Now my 2007 R6 looks even better. It’s got that sleek, powerful look, and I’ve managed to make it a bit more unique without going crazy. And you know what? It was actually a pretty fun little project.
