Yesterday, I got a sudden urge to check out the horse races, and Turfway Park was on my mind. I wanted to see what was happening there today. So, I grabbed my phone and started looking up “turfway park entries for today”.

First, I found out that Turfway Park is owned and operated by Churchill Downs. It’s not just about racing; they have over 800 games, live thoroughbred racing, and year-round simulcast horse racing. They even have a Bet Builder app. It lets you check the latest lines, build your bets, and see how much you could win before going to their Race & Sports Book. Sounds pretty cool, right?
Then I dug a little deeper into the park’s history. Back in 2020, they replaced the old Polytrack surface with something called Tapeta. It’s a mix of silica sand, wax, and fibers. I also learned that Turfway Park doesn’t have a turf course, and they tore down the old grandstand in 2020 to build a new one. Plus, they have stables for about 1,000 horses!
Getting Down to the Races
Next, I wanted to see the actual entries for today’s races. A website called Fan Odds showed all of today’s horse racing entries for Turfway Park. It had the latest info on upcoming races, which was exactly what I was looking for. Perfect!
I also stumbled upon another source, Equibase. They claimed to be the official source for horse racing entries, scratches, changes, and cancellations. Another website also mentioned that they provide daily horse racing predictions. That sounded promising, so I decided to check them out.
- Equibase had some interesting stats about their Power Picks for the last 60 days. Apparently, their top picks were winning 30.9% of the time, and second picks were winning 20.8% of the time. Not bad, I thought.
- Another name that popped up was Gerardo Correas. It seemed like he was associated with Turfway Park picks, but I wasn’t too sure about the details.
All in all, it was a fun little research session. I got to learn a bit about Turfway Park, its history, and the resources available for checking out today’s races. Maybe I’ll head over there sometime and see the action for myself!
