Okay, so, I wanted to mess around with these things called “echo shards.” First off, I didn’t even know what they were, so I did a little digging.
Turns out, these echo shards used to be labeled as “common,” but now they’re “uncommon,” whatever that means. Apparently, they’re not in ancient city chests anymore because of some “outdated structures and loot chests” issue. Makes sense, I guess. So, they’re not super easy to find anymore.
I was reading that you can actually make these things yourself. The recipe I saw was 9 blocks of skulk in a crafting table to get one echo shard. Sounds like a lot of work, but it’s something you can do repeatedly. I don’t know what skulk is. It was mentioned that I should put silk touch on a hoe, but I don’t know what that means.
But then there’s the other way to get them, which is hunting around in these places called “Ancient Cities.” These cities are apparently only in the “Deep Dark” biome, which, let me tell you, sounds creepy. And you gotta go way, way down to find them. It’s a whole adventure just to get to these places.
I was also poking around in the game files a bit, you know, just to see what’s what. I found out you can get these echo shards by using some command called ” /execute” and smashing some items. Also, by taking apart “Illusion Orbs,” whatever those are. I haven’t tried that yet, but it sounds kinda cool, right? Dismantling stuff to get what you want. You can use it to get Echo, but I don’t know what that is.
So that’s where I’m at with these echo shards. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, figuring out all these different ways to get them. And honestly, I’m still not 100% sure what I’m going to do with them once I have them, but hey, that’s half the fun, right?

I’ll keep messing around and see what else I can find. Maybe I’ll even try to craft some of those skulk blocks or go on a deep-dark adventure. Who knows! It is just what I’m playing around with right now.
