Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this stallion stats thing for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I started this whole thing because I wanted to breed my mare. She’s a beauty, but I really needed to figure out what kind of stallion would be the best match for her.

First thing I did was take a good, long look at my mare. I mean, I really looked at her. What were her strong points? What were her not-so-strong points? I checked out her build, her size, her personality, all that stuff. You gotta know what you’re working with, right?
Then, I started thinking about what I wanted in a foal. Did I want something that could race? Or was I thinking more along the lines of a show horse? Or maybe just a really solid, all-around horse? It’s important to think about the future foal.
Once I had that figured out, I started diving into the world of stallions. Man, there’s a lot to consider. I looked at their personalities, their builds, the way they moved. You want a calm stallion, not some wild thing that’s gonna be a pain to handle. You want one that is eager to work with. And, of course, the behavior is important. And of course, a gelding is more controllable.
- Temperament: Checked for calmness and cooperation.
- Conformation: Assessed their build and structure.
- Type: Noted their breed and general style.
- Color: Looked for color.
- Ability: Assessed their skills.
After going through a bunch of different stallions, I finally narrowed it down to a few that seemed like good potential matches. Then I started comparing their offspring. I learned somewhere that looking at siblings gives you a more accurate picture. It is interesting to see what a stallion throws.
Then I have been thinking about the artificial insemination techniques.

Finally
I think I’ve finally found the one. It’s been a lot of work, but I’m pretty confident that this stallion is the right choice for my mare. Now, it’s just a matter of waiting and hoping for the best!
