Okay, so today I decided to really dig into this “Strickland Shooting” thing. I’d heard the name tossed around, but I wanted to get a better handle on the actual drills and how to do them. Here’s how my day went down:

First Steps: What Even IS It?
First up, I needed to know what I was even dealing with. Strickland,I discoverd , refers to a basketball shooting drill. Seemed simple enough, I don’t need other complicate things before my practice, just get start!
Hitting the Court: Let’s Do This
Armed with my newfound, I went to my home court. My court is not so big,but enought for me to practice.
So the drill focus on shooting and footwork.I started to do it,I keep shooting, and I keep moving my feet, just like the drill said. Man, it’s tougher than it looks! Keeping your balance while you’re jumping and shooting…that’s a whole different level of coordination.
Breaking it Down: My Little Tweaks
After a few rounds, I started to feel like I was getting the hang of it. But I also started making little adjustments, you know? Like, I noticed I was drifting a bit on my jump shot, so I really focused on pushing straight up. And my release felt a little rushed, so I tried to slow it down just a hair. It’s all about finding what works for you, right?
Keeping Track: Numbers Don’t Lie
I’m a big believer in tracking progress. You can’t improve what you don’t measure, as the saying goes. So I started keeping a simple tally. I wrote this:

- Attempts: 100
- Makes:(I won’t tell you the real number, it was… humbling. Let’s just say it was less than half!)
Seeing the numbers like that, even if they’re not great, gives you something to work towards. Next time, I’m aiming for even a small improvement. That’s how you get better, bit by bit.
Wrapping Up: Tired But Happy
By the end, I was pretty beat. My legs were feeling it, my arms were feeling it, even my brain was feeling it. But it was a good kind of tired, you know? The kind you get when you’ve pushed yourself and learned something new. I know I’ve got a long way to go before I’m hitting like a pro, but I feel like I’m on the right track. And that’s all that matters, right? Keep practicing, keep learning, keep getting better.
