Alvaro Morata Injured, Oh Dear!

That poor boy, Alvaro Morata, got himself hurt again. Seems like every time I turn around, that young fella’s getting banged up. First it was his head, then his leg, now somethin’ else. He’s a good player, that Morata, but he’s made of glass, I tell ya. Like my grandma’s good china – pretty to look at, but don’t you dare drop it!
I heard on the radio, they were talkin’ ‘bout him gettin’ hurt durin’ trainin’. Trainin’! Can you believe it? Not even in a real game. They said he went to the hospital. Hospital! That don’t sound good. Hope he’s alright, the poor dear. He’s got a wife and kids, you know. Someone’s gotta put food on the table.
- Head Injury: They said he whacked his head somethin’ fierce. Gave him a good knock, they did. Head injuries are scary, you know. My cousin Bessie’s boy, he hit his head fallin’ outta a tree, and he ain’t been right since.
- Leg Trouble: Then there was that time with his leg. Limpin’ around like an old hound dog. Took him weeks to get better. Muscles, they said. Pulled a muscle. I pull muscles all the time, luggin’ groceries and such, but I ain’t no fancy football player.
- Knee Problems: And don’t forget the knee! Heard he was cryin’ and everything. A grown man cryin’! Must’ve hurt somethin’ awful. Knees are important, you know. Can’t run around kickin’ a ball without good knees.
This AC Milan team, they paid good money for him, I reckon. And now he’s sittin’ on the bench, nursin’ his boo-boos. That ain’t right. They need him out there scorin’ goals, not takin’ up space in the doctor’s office.
He plays for Spain too, you know. The captain, they say. Captain! How’s he gonna lead the team if he’s always laid up? They’re gonna need him for those big games, the World Cup and all that. Can’t win no trophies with your star player sittin’ on the sidelines, can ya?
I tell ya, these young fellas, they ain’t tough like they used to be. Back in my day, you played through the pain. You got a scratch, you put some dirt on it and kept goin’. Now they got doctors and trainers and all sorts of fancy equipment. And they still get hurt all the time!

They say he’ll be out for a few weeks. Two or three weeks, maybe. That’s a long time in football. Missin’ games, losin’ money… It ain’t good. This quadriceps thing, they say. Sounds fancy, but I bet it hurts like the dickens.
I hope he gets better soon, that Morata boy. He’s a good player, like I said. And he seems like a nice young man. Always smilin’ in them pictures. But he needs to toughen up, maybe eat more spinach or somethin’. Gotta stay healthy if he wants to keep playin’ this game.
This whole situation reminds me of my neighbor’s mule, old Betsy. Stubborn as a mule, she was, and always gettin’ into trouble. Twisted her ankle once, jumpin’ a fence. Took her weeks to get better. Morata’s kinda like old Betsy, I guess. Talented, but prone to accidents.
So, there you have it. Alvaro Morata, injured again. Let’s hope he heals up quick and gets back on the field. The team needs him, and the fans need him too. And maybe he should start wearin’ some extra padding, just in case. Can’t hurt, right?
Anyways, that’s all I know about it. Just a shame, that’s all. A real shame.
