This ATP Adelaide 2024, it’s gonna be a big thing, you know? Heard it on the radio the other day, sounded mighty important. They say it’s gonna be from January 8th to 13th. Six whole days of that tennis playing! Imagine that. My old bones can barely make it through a day of gardening, let alone six days of running around like those young folks do.
They say some big shot players are gonna be there. Some fella named Thanasi Kokkinakis, he was the champ back in 2022, so he must be good. And this other one, Tommy Paul, they say he’s number 12 in the whole world! Can you believe it? Number 12! And another fella, Sebastian Korda, he’s number 23. These young people, with their fancy names and their running around. They’re all gonna be playing at the Adelaide International 2024, I reckon.
And it ain’t just the men, no sir. They got women playing too. Jessica Pegula, that’s a name I heard. And some other lady who won that Wimbledon thing, Barbora Krejcikova. Sounds important, that Wimbledon. Don’t rightly know what it is, but it sounds fancy. They got all these tournaments, it’s hard to keep up.
They gonna be playing at this place, Memorial Drive Tennis Centre. Sounds grand, don’t it? They say it’s got 13 grass courts, all for playing tennis. You know, back in my day, we just played in the dirt. Didn’t need no fancy grass. And they all just play with a racket and a ball, ain’t it simple? But it’s very popular in the world.
This whole thing, it used to be somewhere else, I think. Melbourne Park, that’s what they call it now. Used to be called Flinders Park, but they changed it. Like they do with everything these days. Back in ’88, they had the first tournament there. They say it was real nice, all new and shiny. And a whole bunch of people went to watch, over 250,000! Can you imagine that many people in one place?
I reckon this ATP Adelaide 2024 is gonna be a big deal. Lots of folks are gonna be watching. I’ll probably hear about it on the radio some more. Maybe I’ll even try to watch it on the TV if someone can show me how to work that darn thing.
This Adelaide International 2024, gonna happen January 8th. That’s what they said. The final match, where they decide the winner, that’s gonna be on January 13th. That’s important, they gonna choose the best one in the end. It’s a big deal.
I heard some folks talking about the Adelaide International schedule. Seems like they got it all planned out, who plays who, and when. You can probably find it somewhere if you’re interested. Me, I just like hearing about it. Makes me feel like I’m still part of the world, even if I don’t understand all of it.
They say there’s gonna be prize money. Lots of it, I bet. For hitting a little ball over a net. These young people, they make a good living doing that. More power to ’em, I say.
