Okay, so I finally got my hands on a Honda Shadow Sabre 1100. I’d been eyeing one for a while, and let me tell you, this thing is a beast – in a good way! Here’s how it all went down.

The Hunt Begins
First, I started by scouring online listings. You know, the usual places. I spent hours scrolling through photos and descriptions, trying to find one that was in decent shape and, more importantly, within my budget. It was a bit of a grind, to be honest. Lots of duds, a few overpriced gems, and some that were just too far away.
Found It!
Then, bingo! I found one that looked promising. The pictures were good, the description was detailed, and the price was right. It wasn’t perfect, had a few minor cosmetic issues, but nothing I couldn’t handle. I messaged the seller immediately, we chatted a bit, and I scheduled a time to go see it in person.
Checking It Out
So, I drove out to see the bike. The seller was a cool dude, seemed pretty honest. I gave the Sabre a thorough once-over. I checked the tires, looked for any obvious leaks, listened to the engine, and took it for a short test ride. It felt solid, sounded great, and everything seemed to be in working order. A few scratches here and there, a tiny dent in the tank, but hey, it’s a used bike.
Making the Deal
After the test ride, I was pretty much sold. We negotiated the price a little bit – you always gotta haggle a bit, right? – and settled on a number we were both happy with. I paid the man, got the title, and just like that, I was the proud owner of a Shadow Sabre 1100!
The Ride Home
Riding it home was awesome! That 1100cc engine has some serious power. It cruised effortlessly on the highway, and it just felt so smooth and comfortable. I took the long way home, just enjoying the ride and getting a feel for the bike.

The First Few Tweaks
- First thing I did was give it a good wash and wax. Gotta make it shine!
- Then I ordered a few parts online – new mirrors (one was cracked), some fresh grips, and a couple of other small things.
- Installed a phone mount. Important!
Loving It!
I’ve been riding the Sabre every chance I get. It’s a fantastic bike – powerful, comfortable, and just a blast to ride. I’m already planning some longer trips. It’s exactly what I was looking for. Seriously, if you’re thinking about getting one, do it! You won’t regret it. Still needs a couple of things, thinking to add some custom bags.
