Well, here we go, another season kicking off for them Blue Jays. Time sure does fly, don’t it? Seems like just yesterday they was wrapping up last year. Now, they’s got a whole new bunch of fellas ready to take the field. Let me tell ya about this Blue Jays Opening Day Roster, gonna be a hoot watchin’ ’em play.

Blue Jays Catchers
First off, you got your catchers. These boys are tough as nails, squatting down there all game long. They say Alejandro Kirk, he’s one of ’em. He’s a good one, that Kirk. Then there’s Danny Jansen, heard he is back again. They make a good pair, them two.
- Alejandro Kirk – He’s the main man, I reckon.
- Danny Jansen – He’s gonna be there too, catchin’ them balls.
Blue Jays Infielders
Now, the infielders, these fellas are quick on their feet. They got to be, to scoop up them ground balls. This Bo Bichette, that’s a name I heard a lot last year. He is something else, that boy is fast. And then there is old man Chapman, still hitting hard, I heard. He’s been around for a long while, that one.
- Bo Bichette – He’s a young one, but he’s good.
- Matt Chapman – He’s still got it, I reckon.
- Vladimir Guerrero Jr. – Oh, he’s a strong boy, hits that ball far.
- Whit Merrifield – He plays in the outfield and infield, run fast like rabbit.
That Guerrero boy, he can sure hit the ball a mile. I seen him do it myself, clean outta the park! These Blue Jays infielders, they are sure something to watch.
Blue Jays Outfielders
Out in the outfield, you got your fellas who can run like the wind. They gotta cover a lot of ground out there. They got this George Springer, I heard he is good, always catching the fly ball. And this Kevin Kiermaier, came from other team, I heard he is fast. They say he can track down any ball. And Varsho, another new guy, hope he can hit well.
- George Springer – He’s the leader out there, I suppose.
- Kevin Kiermaier – They say he’s like a hawk, watchin’ them fly balls.
- Daulton Varsho – Another new guy, hope he does well.
That’s the bunch in the outfield. They’ll be runnin’ all over the place, chasin’ them fly balls. It’s a tough job, but somebodies got to do it, right?

Blue Jays Pitchers
Now, the pitchers, these are the fellas who throw the ball. They got all kinds of different pitches, fastballs, curveballs, you name it. Alek Manoah is one of ’em, big strong boy. They say he’s one of the best they got. And this Gausman, he can really throw heat, they say.
- Alek Manoah – He’s a big fella, throws hard.
- Kevin Gausman – He’s another one, real good pitcher.
- Chris Bassitt – Heard he had good performance last year.
- Yusei Kikuchi – Hope he can do better this year.
- Jose Berrios – He will be better, I believe.
They also got this Romano, he is the last one to pitch, they called “closer”, make sure they win the game. And this Zach Pop, he made the team too, good for him, young boy.
- Jordan Romano – He’s the one they bring in at the end, to close it out.
- Zach Pop – He’s one of them new kids. Good for him.
- Erik Swanson – Hope he can pitch good, came from other team.
- Anthony Bass – Another pitcher.
- Yimi Garcia – He can pitch too.
That’s a whole lot of pitchers, ain’t it? They’s all important, every one of ’em. They gotta keep them other teams from scoring too many runs. It is a tough job, pitching.
Blue Jays, This Year
Well, there you have it, the whole Blue Jays Opening Day Roster. It’s a good lookin’ bunch, I reckon. They got some good hitters, some good fielders, and some good pitchers. I think they got a real good chance this year. I’ll be watchin’ ’em, that’s for sure. Hope they win a lot of games. It’s always fun to watch ’em play. This Opening Day, it’s gonna be somethin’, I betcha. Yep, this year’s Blue Jays team, they’re gonna be alright. They are gonna make old Toronto proud, you just wait and see.
And this Nathan Lukes, they say he made the team too, last one. Good for him! Hope he gets a chance to play.

That’s all I know about this Blue Jays Opening Day roster. Hope they do good this year. Gonna be watchin’ them for sure. Go Blue Jays!
