Alright, listen up, y’all. You wanna know where to watch them Diamondbacks play them Pirates, huh? Well, it ain’t rocket science, I tell ya. It’s just baseball, plain and simple.

First off, you gotta figure out when these fellas are playin’. Seems like they got a bunch of games lined up. Some in July, some in August. So, keep your ears open, or your eyes on that TV schedule, if you got one of them fancy things. I heard tell there’s a game on Friday, August 2nd. And another one on Saturday, August 3rd. Heck, they even played back on July 27th, but that’s done gone past now.
Now, where to watch ’em… that’s the real question, ain’t it? Well, they got this thing called the “Watch ESPN”. Sounds fancy, but it’s just a way to see the game on your TV or your phone, or whatever doodad you got. They say you can “live stream” the game there. Don’t ask me what that means, sounds like somethin’ to do with water, but it ain’t. It just means you see the game as it happens, live and in person, well, not in person, but you know what I mean. They streamed that game on July 28th, and I bet they’ll do it again for them August games.
Then there’s the TV channels. Used to be, you just turned on the TV and there it was. Now they got a million channels, and half the time you can’t find nothin’ but folks yellin’ at each other. But, if you’re lucky, you might find the game on one of them sports channels. They don’t tell you which one, them sneaky fellas, you gotta hunt for it yourself.
- Figure out the date: Is it July 27th? August 2nd? August 3rd? Gotta know when they’re playin’.
- Check “Watch ESPN”: They seem to show a lot of games, so that’s a good place to start.
- Find the TV channel: Good luck with that, there’s a whole mess of ’em.
- Remember the Time: Some games is early, some is late. Gotta know when to plop yourself down in front of the TV. One game, they say, is at 6:40 PM ET on August 3rd in Pittsburgh. Another one’s at 9:40 PM ET on August 2nd, but that’s Arizona time, so Lord knows when that is where you are.
Now, some of these games is in Pittsburgh, at somethin’ called PNC Park. Sounds like a fancy place, not like my old porch. And some are in Arizona, at Chase Field. Don’t matter much to me, long as I can see the game.
They also talk about the Diamondbacks bein’ 53-50, and the Pirates bein’ 52-50. Sounds like they’re pretty even matched, which should make for a good game, I reckon. Not too much lopsided beatin’, hopefully. Makes it more fun when it’s a close one.

Oh, and I saw somethin’ about the Seattle Mariners playin’ the Pirates too, on August 16th, on that Watch ESPN thing again. But that ain’t got nothin’ to do with the Diamondbacks, so I guess you don’t care about that. Just thought I’d mention it, seein’ as it popped up.
So there you have it. Ain’t no big secret. You wanna watch the Diamondbacks versus the Pirates, you gotta know the date, find that Watch ESPN thing, or hunt down the right TV channel, and know what time to turn on that there TV. And if you can’t figure it out, well, just ask your neighbor, maybe they know more than me. Heck, even my grandson knows more about this stuff than I do half the time. Just try not to get bamboozled by all them fancy words and numbers.
Important thing is, it’s baseball. Enjoy the game, folks. And don’t forget to get yourself a good snack. Nothin’ like watchin’ baseball with a big ol’ bowl of popcorn, or maybe some peanuts. Now, you go on and find that game. I gotta go get myself a glass of iced tea.
