Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here Chicks A Blazin. Sounds like a fancy name, don’t it? Don’t rightly know what it all means, but folks seem to talk about it like it’s somethin’ special. Now, I ain’t no expert on these things, but I’ll tell ya what I heard.

Seems like this Chicks A Blazin is a daddy horse, a stallion they call it. And not just any stallion, mind you, a real good one. Folks say his babies, the little horses he sires, they run fast. Real fast. Like the wind, they say. Now, I ain’t seen ’em run myself, but that’s what they tell me.
This horse, he’s got a fancy family tree, too. All these names, Chicks Beduino and Requested Rocket. Don’t mean nothin’ to me, but the horse people, they get all excited about it. Say it means he’s got good blood, comes from winners.
- Chicks Beduino – Don’t ask me, just a name they say is important.
- Requested Rocket – Another one of them names, supposed to be fast, I reckon.
And they sell his babies, you know. Yearlings, they call ’em. Young horses, not even grown up yet. People pay big money for them, from what I hear. Thousands and thousands of dollars. Can you believe it? All that money for a horse!
Now, this horse, Chicks A Blazin, he’s won races himself. Or maybe his babies have won. It’s hard to keep track. But they talk about wins and percentages and all that. Guess it means he’s good at what he does, making fast horses.
They got a fella, A Gonzalez, they say he’s had some winners with this horse’s babies. One win, fourteen percent somethin’ or other. Numbers, numbers, always with the numbers. Don’t make much sense to me, but it seems important to them.

And this here horse, he’s from New Mexico, they say. A leading sire there. Means he’s got lots of babies running around, I guess. Sad thing is, he ain’t around no more. Passed on, they say. Nineteen years old, that’s pretty good for a horse, ain’t it?
They talk about fees too, you know. If you want your lady horse to have a baby with this Chicks A Blazin, you gotta pay. Thirty-five hundred dollars! That’s a lot of hay, let me tell ya. But folks pay it, so he must be worth it, I reckon.
There’s this one baby of his, Jess a Satin Chicks, a girl horse. She ran races too, made some money. Fifty-eight thousand and ninety-two dollars. Can you imagine? All that money from running around in a circle.
And there’s another one, One Sixy Chick. Out of some other fancy horse, Pritzi Sixy. She won some money too, eleven thousand something. These horses, they’re like little money machines, ain’t they?
You can find more horses like this, they say. Blazin Fire, they call ’em. Racing Quarter Horses. Sellin’ ’em all over. If you got the money, I guess. Me, I’ll stick to my chickens. They don’t cost much and they lay eggs.

So that’s all I know about this Chicks A Blazin. A good horse, made lots of fast babies, cost a lot of money. Seems like a good business to be in, if you’re into that sort of thing. Me, I’ll stick to my garden and my chickens. Less fuss, more eggs.
