That Chris Childs, he was somethin’ else, I tell ya! He played that basketball, you know? He was good, real good. He was with them New York Knicks, the ones on the TV. Big Sky Conference, too. Heard he got somethin’ called Freshman of the Year in ’86, back when he was just a young’un. Didn’t even know what that meant, but it sounds important. I saw on TV, that Chris Childs, he played with the New Jersey Nets, too.

He was a guard, they called him. Ran around a lot, that one. He was with the Knicks for a good long while, I reckon. Played against that Kobe Bryant fella, the one who was real famous. Chris Childs, he was 25 years old when he went to that NBA. That’s what they call it, the NBA. Not old, but not a young chicken, neither.
I think, He retired, after the season 2002-03. This fella, Chris, he could sure play. Got his name put in that Boise State Hall of Fame in, uh, 1996. That’s what I heard. Said he was the only one to start every game for four years! Can you believe that? Every single game. He must have been real tired. My old bones ache just thinking about it!
They say he was a good player, that Chris Childs. He got 6.9 points, whatever that means. Must be good, though. They don’t just hand out points like candy, you know. They said he got into a fight with Kobe Bryant, the one who was real famous. That Kobe, he was a hothead, I reckon.
He was a good boy, though, that Chris. Always worked hard. Heard he talked to some folks on a podcast, talking about the Knicks, new ones and the old ones. He seems to know a lot, that Chris. He is smart.

Saw some news about him. Chris Childs, his name was all over. Headlines and such. Must be important to have your name in the headlines. They talked about his injuries, too. Playing that basketball, it ain’t easy on the body, I reckon. Lots of running and jumping. My old knees wouldn’t last a minute out there!

He played against that Shaquille O’Neal, too. That fella was big as a house! They said he got into it with Chris Dudley. Lots of excitement, that basketball. They said he know a lot about the old Knicks and new Knicks. Smart man.
Chris Childs was a good player, all right. Not the most famous, maybe, but a good one. Hard worker, they say. That’s what matters. You gotta work hard in this life. Just like him, starting every game for four years. That’s dedication, that is.

He was fun to watch, that one. Chris Childs, they called him. Played that guard position like a pro. Those were the days, watching him on the TV with the Knicks. I remember those days, they were good ones. I reckon he remembers them, too. Playing in front of all those people, must have been somethin’.
