Big in the Fightin’ World, They Say
They say he’s a big shot in the fightin’ world, this Chris Tognoni. UFC, Bellator, all that MMA stuff. Ultimate Fightin’, that’s what they call it. I don’t watch that mess myself. Too much gruntin’ and groanin’ for my taste. But apparently, he’s the go-to guy. News, interviews, pictures, the whole shebang. He’s seen it all, I reckon.
Now, I heard someone sayin’ somethin’ about him bein’ a “pioneer.” A pioneer! Like them folks who went west in them covered wagons. But I guess in this fightin’ world, a pioneer is someone who knows his stuff, been around since the beginnin’. So, Chris, he’s a fightin’ pioneer, I guess. But hold on, it ain’t all just punchin’ and kickin’ with this Chris. I heard tell he was a teacher, too. A PE teacher, for the eighth graders. Can you imagine? Folks are always nosy, wantin’ to know everything about everybody. They’re wonderin’ when Chris was born, how old he is, if he’s got a wife, kids, the whole nine yards. But nobody seems to know for sure. It’s all hush-hush. Maybe he likes it that way. Some folks are private, ya know? They don’t want their business spread all over town.
