Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into the Cognizant Classic, trying to figure out who’s gonna be on top this week. It’s always a fun challenge, and I figured I’d share my process – maybe it’ll help you out, maybe it won’t, but here we go!

First Step: Checking Out the Course
First thing I did was pull up info about the course, PGA National. I wanted to get a feel for the layout. Is it long? Are the greens tricky? What kind of player does it favor?
I spent some time, you know, just browsing around, looking at past results, what people were saying about the course, just really soaking it all in. You gotta know the battlefield before you pick your warriors, right?
Next: Looking at Recent Player Form
After that, I started looking at how players have been performing lately. I wanted to find guys who are hot, you know, riding a wave of good play.
I checked out their recent finishes in tournaments – top 10s, top 20s, that kind of thing. Consistency is great, but I also looked for guys who’ve shown they can pop off and win.

- Who is the recent winer?
- Who placed well, but didn’t quite make it?
- Are there any suprise players?
Digging into the Stats
Then,I start to check some stats. I mean, there are a million stats out there, but I focus on a few key ones that I think matter for this particular course.
Things like Strokes Gained: Approach, Strokes Gained: Putting, Driving Accuracy – those kinds of things. I’m not trying to build a super-complex model or anything, just getting a sense of who’s got the right skills for this specific challenge.
Putting it All Together
Finally,I take all that – the course info, the recent form, the stats – and I just… think about it. It’s not an exact science, let’s be real. You gotta use your gut a little bit, too.
I ended up picking a few guys that I feel good about. They’ve got the right combination of form, skills, and – let’s be honest – a little bit of luck on their side. We will see it on the match day.
So that’s it! That’s my process. Maybe it’ll inspire you to do your own digging. Or maybe you’ll just laugh at my picks. Either way, good luck, and let’s see how things shake out this week!
