Okay, so I jumped back into Pokemon Go recently, mainly because my kids are super into it. And what do you know, they had this “Collection Challenge” thing going on. Sounded simple enough, right? Catch a bunch of specific Pokemon, get some rewards. Easy peasy… or so I thought.

Getting Started
First, I opened the app and checked out the challenge details. It listed out all the Pokemon I needed to snag. Some were common ones I already had a ton of, like, seriously, way too many Rattata. But others? Not so much. There were a few I’d never even seen before!
The Hunt Begins
So, I started by just playing like normal, walking around my neighborhood, hitting up PokeStops, the usual. I managed to catch a few of the easier ones right away. I felt pretty good, like “Yeah, I got this.”
- Caught a bunch of common spawns.
- Used some Incense to try and attract more.
- Walked, walked, and walked some more.
The Struggle is Real
Then came the hard part. I needed a few specific Pokemon that just weren’t showing up. I spent hours walking around different areas, parks, even drove to a few spots known for specific types. Nothing. It was getting frustrating, I’m not gonna lie. My kids, of course, were catching everything they needed in like five minutes. Show-offs.
Asking for a Little Help…
I finally broke down and checked some online forums. I don’t usually like doing that, I prefer to figure things out myself, but I was getting desperate. Turns out, some of the Pokemon were more likely to appear during certain times of the day, or near specific types of locations. Who knew?
Finally Got There!
Armed with this new info, I went back out. I focused on those specific times and locations, and slowly but surely, I started to find the missing Pokemon. The last one I needed was some weird, I don’t even remember name. I spotted it on the radar, ran like a crazy person, and finally caught it! Such a relief!

So yeah, I completed the Collection Challenge. It took way longer than I expected, and I definitely learned a few things along the way. Mostly, I learned that my kids are way better at Pokemon Go than I am. But hey, I got some cool rewards, and that’s all that matters, right?
