Alright, listen up, y’all. We gonna talk about this 2016 NFL re-draft, like, what if them teams got a do-over, you know? Seein’ as how some of them fellers turned out, some teams probably wishin’ they coulda picked different, ain’t that right? This ain’t no fancy talk, just plain speakin’ like it is.

So, first off, quarterbacks. Them fellas are always a big deal, right? Quarterbacks are like gold, everybody wants one. Back in 2016, some teams thought they got a good one, but maybe they was wrong. If we doin’ this re-draft thing, we gotta look at who really panned out, not just who looked good on paper back then. I reckon Jared Goff and Carson Wentz, they went high, but did they stay high? That’s the question.
Now, some folks say Dak Prescott shoulda gone way higher. He was a steal, that’s for sure. He’s like that good watermelon you find at the back of the truck, nobody sees it but you. So in this re-draft, he’d be up there, near the top, I betcha. Maybe even number one, who knows? It ain’t just about arm strength or runnin’ fast, it’s about winnin’ games, and that boy knows how to win.
- Quarterback is key.
- Gotta look at who really performed.
- Some guys were steals, like Dak.
Then you got them running backs. Ezekiel Elliott, he was a big deal comin’ out, and he did alright for a while. But running backs, they wear down, you know? It’s like an old truck, starts strong but then it starts missin’ and sputterin’. So in a re-draft, maybe he still goes high, but maybe not as high. You gotta think long term, not just about the first couple of years. There were other good backs too, like Jordan Howard, but he wasn’t no Zeke, not in the beginnin’ anyways. But longevity matters, don’t it?
And what about them wide receivers? Michael Thomas, he turned out pretty good, caught a lot of balls. He’s like one of them sticky traps, the ball just sticks to his hands. He’d definitely go higher in a re-draft, I reckon. Then there’s Tyreek Hill, fast as lightning. Speed kills, they say, and he’s got plenty of it. He’d be way up there too, teams always need speed. Some other fellas, they didn’t do so hot, so they’d drop down, maybe even outta the first round altogether.
Defense wins championships, that’s what they always say. So we gotta think about them defensive fellas too. Joey Bosa, he’s a beast, always gettin’ after the quarterback. He’d still be a high pick, no doubt. Jalen Ramsey, talkin’ trash and backin’ it up, he’s another one. Cornerbacks, they important, gotta shut down them receivers. But some of them other defensive guys, they didn’t live up to the hype, so they’d slide down. It’s a tough business, this football.

This re-draft thing, it ain’t easy. It’s like lookin’ back at a garden you planted and seein’ which seeds grew and which ones didn’t. Some seeds, they look good in the package, but they don’t sprout. Others, they surprise you, growin’ bigger and stronger than you ever thought. That’s football, I guess. You never really know what you’re gonna get.
So, if I was doin’ this 2016 re-draft, I’d be lookin’ at who proved themselves, who played consistent, and who stayed healthy. Them flash-in-the-pan guys, they might look good for a minute, but you need players who can go the distance. Quarterbacks still go early but maybe in different order. Guys like Dak and maybe even someone nobody paid much attention to at first would get their due. Skill positions gotta be productive and stay on the field and defense gotta shut down the other team. It’s as simple as that. No need for all that fancy talk, just good, solid players who can get the job done. This here re-draft, it’s about second chances and seein’ what coulda been. It ain’t perfect, but it’s somethin’ to think about, ain’t it?
And remember, this ain’t no exact science. It’s just common sense, like pickin’ ripe tomatoes outta the garden. You want the best ones, the ones that are gonna last. That’s how you build a winning team, and that’s how you do a re-draft. You don’t need a fancy degree to figure that out, just a good eye and a little bit of know-how.
