So in this re-draft, he’d be up there, near the top, I betcha. Maybe even number one, who knows? He’d still be a high pick, no doubt. Jalen Ramsey, talkin’ trash and backin’ it up, he’s another one. Cornerbacks, they important, gotta shut down them receivers. But some of them other defensive guys, they didn’t live up to the hype, so they’d slide down. It’s a tough business, this football.
This re-draft thing, it ain’t easy. It’s like lookin’ back at a garden you planted and seein’ which seeds grew and which ones didn’t. Some seeds, they look good in the package, but they don’t sprout. Others, they surprise you, growin’ bigger and stronger than you ever thought. That’s football, I guess. You never really know what you’re gonna get.
So, if I was doin’ this 2016 re-draft, I’d be lookin’ at who proved themselves, who played consistent, and who stayed healthy. Them flash-in-the-pan guys, they might look good for a minute, but you need players who can go the distance. Quarterbacks still go early but maybe in different order. Guys like Dak and maybe even someone nobody paid much attention to at first would get their due. Skill positions gotta be productive and stay on the field and defense gotta shut down the other team. It’s as simple as that. No need for all that fancy talk, just good, solid players who can get the job done. This here re-draft, it’s about second chances and seein’ what coulda been. It ain’t perfect, but it’s somethin’ to think about, ain’t it?
