This here story is about that Benjamin Rodriguez fella. He’s a good boy, that one. I hear tell he comes from a little place, Paysand, they call it. It’s way up north, four hours from the big city in Uruguay, that’s what they say. He lived there with his grandma, and his auntie, and his daddy, too. Sounds like a quiet place, that Paysand. Not like here. Always somethin’ goin’ on here, you know?

Now, I seen on that Facebook thing, there’s a whole bunch of folks named Benjamin Rodriguez. You can look ’em up, join up, and talk to ’em. This here Benjamin Rodriguez, he might be on there, or he might not, who knows these days? That Facebook, it lets anybody talk to anybody, I reckon. Can even connect with people you don’t know, just like you know each other. It’s a funny thing, this internet.
Then there’s that other thing, what’s it called? Instagram! Yeah, that’s it. There’s a Benjamin Rodriguez on there, goes by “benrodriguez_,” He’s got pictures, they say. From a place called Ensenada, wherever that is. He’s got a whole bunch of folks followin’ him, more than three thousand! That’s a lot of people. He’s followin’ some folks too, about six hundred or so. He’s got 146 pictures up there. What they call “posts,” I think.
And I seen another one, this fella on Instagram, he’s got more than two thousand folks watchin’ what he’s doin’. And he’s watchin’ over a thousand himself! My goodness, that’s a lot of watchin’! Then there’s another one, he’s got about one thousand two hundred followers. And he’s followin’ one thousand. Lordy, it’s all so confusin’.
Now, this other Benjamin Rodriguez, they call him “Benny the Jet.” Sounds like a fast one, huh? Played that baseball game, they say. Right field, whatever that means. He played for a long time, from ’68 to ’99, sounds like. That’s a long time to be doin’ anythin’, if you ask me.
Then there’s this other young Ben, I hear tell. From a place called Durban. You probably never heard of him before, but you have now, ain’t that right? Seems like there’s a whole lot of these Benjamin Rodriguez fellas runnin’ around.
So, that’s what I know about that Benjamin Rodriguez. It ain’t much, but it’s somethin’. He’s probably a good boy. Most of ’em are, you know. Just gotta give ’em a chance. This world’s full of all kinds of folks, and you gotta take ’em as they come.
Here’s a little list of things I heard about him. Don’t know if they’re true, but here they are:
- He lived in a small town called Paysand.
- He lived with his grandma, auntie, and daddy.
- He might be on Facebook.
- There is a “benrodriguez_” on Instagram from Ensenada.
- One played baseball, they called him “Benny the Jet”.
- There’s one from Durban.
Yep, just try to find him, Benjamin Rodriguez, online. He is everywhere and nowhere at the same time, I think. Too many people on the internet these days. Hope you can find the right person, though. Good luck!
This Benjamin Rodriguez, the one from Paysand, he probably had a good life there. Small towns are good for raisin’ kids. Everyone knows everyone, and everyone looks out for each other. At least, that’s how it used to be. Not sure how it is now. Times change, you know? People change. Even little towns change. But in my memory, small towns always good.
I wonder what he did for fun, this Benjamin Rodriguez. Probably played outside a lot. Kids used to do that, you know. Play outside all day long, until it got dark. Then they’d come home, tired and dirty, and eat supper. Then go to bed and do it all over again the next day. Good old days. No computers, no Instagram. Just good clean fun.

Maybe he helped his daddy with chores. That’s what boys do in small towns. They help their daddies. And their grandmas and their aunties. It’s a family thing, you see. Everyone helps each other. That’s how it should be.
That Benjamin Rodriguez from Durban, he might be different, though. I bet he knows how to play soccer. They all play soccer in Durban, I hear. They are crazy about soccer, just like baseball here.
And that baseball player, “Benny the Jet”, he must have been somethin’ to watch. Runnin’ around that field, catchin’ that ball. People cheerin’ and hollerin’. I bet he loved that. He must be a real famous Benjamin Rodriguez. Maybe even the most famous one of them all.
So many Benjamin Rodriguez, so little time, ain’t that right? It’s a big world out there, full of all kinds of people. And a lot of ’em have the same name, it seems. It’s enough to make your head spin! I hope you can find your Benjamin Rodriguez, though. I truly hope so.
