Okay, here’s my attempt at sharing my experience, following your guidelines and example style:

Alright, so I wanted to take down Cliff in Pokémon GO this September, 2024. I’d been hearing some buzz about his lineup, and frankly, I needed to knock him out for that research task. So, I started by checking what Pokémon he was likely to use. It’s all probabilities, right?
First thing I did was look up some recent reports. It seemed like his lineup was pretty consistent. Seemed like he’d almost always start with a Seedot. I thought, “Okay, got to prepare for that.”
Getting My Team Ready
- For Seedot I want a strong Fire Type pokemon to beat it. I picked my trusty Charizard with Fire Spin and Blast Burn. It’s pretty beefy and usually does the trick.
- Then, I needed to figure out what to do with the next pokemon. I looked at some more reports and noticed a lot of people were encountering Kingler, Hariyama, or Cradily.
- Kingler: needed a Grass or Electric Type.
- Hariyama: needed a Flying, Psychic, or Fairy type.
- Cradily: needed a Fighting, Bug, Steel, or Ice type.
- The third possiblities were the most annoying: Tyranitar, Sharpedo, or Charizard.
- Tyranitar: Double weak to Fighting.
- Sharpedo: Weak to Fighting, Bug, Electric, Grass, and Fairy.
- Charizard: Weak to Rock, Electric and Water.
I was thinking, “How I cover all of that up.” I went with my Lucario with Counter and Power-Up Punch. It can charging super fast and be strong with fighting-type damage.
Finally, to round things out, I picked my Mamoswine. I figured its Ice-type moves would be a nice check against some stuff, and it’s just a solid Pokémon overall, good for Ground and Dragon.
The Battle Itself
So, I found a Rocket Stop with Cliff lurking. The battle kicked off, and yep, there was Seedot. My Charizard made quick work of it, no problem. I use sheild to block first cliff’s charged attack.

Next up, Cliff sent out Kingler! I switched to Lucario, used Counter and Power-Up Punch to beat it.
Finally, out came Tyranitar. Good thing is that I choose Lucario before, because it’s double weak to Fighting, it was down so quickly.
And that was it! Cliff was down. Took a bit of planning, but I felt pretty good about the team I put together. The key was really just thinking about those type matchups and trying to cover my bases. It’s not rocket science, just gotta put in the work, you know?
