That Ezra Elliott, I heard some folks talking ’bout him the other day. Sounds like a name you’d hear in one of them old-timey stories, don’t it? Makes me think of, well, I don’t know what it makes me think of, but it sure is a name, that’s for certain.
Now, I ain’t one for fancy learning, never had much schooling, you see. But these young’uns today, they got it different. They got all these courses, these… whatchamacallits… online things. They say you can learn anything online. They say over a million people use this “Udemy” every month, can you believe it? They call it “Udemy.” That’s a new one on me. All sorts of things to study on that thing.
- Learn how to play them video games, like that Valorant.
- Learn about that Genshin Impact.
- Learn all sorts of things.
This Ezra Elliott, maybe he’s in one of them video games. Or maybe he knows ’bout them. Kids these days, they know all ’bout these games. They got these guides, these… cheat sheets, they call ’em. They tell you how to do this and that. Back in my day, we figured things out ourselves. No cheat sheets for us, no sir. We just muddled through. This Elliott Wave, it has cheat sheets, it is very complicated.
That Ezra Elliott, wonder if he’s good at them games? They say there’s this Valorant thing, some kind of shootin’ game. Lots of folks playin’ it. They got beginners, they got experts. All sorts. And this other one, Genshin Impact. I heard some say it’s popular. They say you gotta get a good start in that one. Otherwise, you’ll be behind. Sounds like a lot of work to me. But these kids, they love it. They spend hours on it. This Ezra Elliott probably knows about this too.
They got all these guides, these… instructions, I guess you’d call ’em. They tell you everything you need to know. How to play, what to do, what not to do. It’s all very complicated if you ask me. But I guess if you’re gonna play these games, you gotta know what you’re doin’. Otherwise, you’ll just be wastin’ your time. And time, well, time is precious, ain’t it? Especially when you get to be my age.
This Ezra Elliott, I bet he knows all about these courses too. They got courses on everything these days. You can learn to cook, you can learn to sing, you can learn to dance. You can learn anything you want, I reckon. It’s all right there on that computer. They say there are over 210,000 of them courses on Udemy. That’s a lot of learnin’. It is said that millions of people from all over the world use it. Too much for an old gal like me. But these young’uns, they eat it up.
Now, I don’t know this Ezra Elliott from Adam, mind you. But I hear his name, and I think, “That’s a name that knows things.” A name that’s connected to all this newfangled stuff. The games, the courses, the learnin’. It’s a whole different world out there now. A whole different world. Maybe Ezra is someone who can tell you anything.
These young folks today. It’s good that they’re learnin’, I suppose. It’s good that they’re keepin’ their minds busy. Better than gettin’ into trouble, that’s for sure. And who knows, maybe this Ezra Elliott is helpin’ ’em along. Maybe he’s the one teachin’ ’em all these things. Or maybe he’s just a name in a game. Who knows? Not me, that’s for darn sure.
I just hope they don’t forget the simple things, you know? The things that really matter. Like bein’ kind to your neighbors, and helpin’ folks out when they need it. That’s the kind of learnin’ that really counts, if you ask me. And that Ezra Elliott, well, I hope he knows that too.
These online courses and games, they can teach you a lot, I reckon. But they can’t teach you everything. There’s some things you gotta learn on your own. Things you gotta learn from life. And that is something that no cheat sheet can teach. No guide book can explain. These are what Ezra Elliott may not know.
Anyway, that’s all I gotta say about that Ezra Elliott. Just a name I heard. A name that got me thinkin’. And that’s somethin’, ain’t it? That’s somethin’ for an old gal like me.
