Today I am gonna talk about a movie called “Ferry”. I watched this one on Netflix not long ago, and it totally blew my mind. So, this movie is about a dude named Ferry Bouman, who is like this loyal henchman for a big-time mafia boss in Amsterdam. I think the movie was released in 2021, directed by someone called Cecilia Verheyden, but that’s not important.

So, let me start from the beginning. This Ferry guy, he’s not your average criminal. He’s like the Dutch version of Tony Soprano, I heard. I watched the movie because it’s the prequel to the series. Apparently, he’s a big deal in the drug world. Anyway, the movie starts with Ferry working for this drug lord, and he’s pretty good at his job. But then things go sideways. I remember this one scene where the boss’s son gets hurt bad in a robbery, and Ferry is sent to take care of business. That’s when it all starts.
The Real Action
Ferry goes on this crazy killing spree. He’s like a one-man army, taking out anyone who gets in his way. There’s this massive shootout scene later on – I won’t spoil too much, but it’s pretty intense. I was on the edge of my seat, seriously. He’s got this friend, Xia, who fights for him in the final act. It’s all action-packed.
Digging Deeper
But it’s not all about the action. The movie also shows Ferry’s past. It kind of explains how he became this ruthless guy. Apparently, he used to be an up-and-coming drug dealer, and he needed money bad. So, when a big-time drug lord got arrested, he saw his chance. That’s where it all began for him. I was like, “Wow, that’s rough.”
I also read somewhere that the actor who plays Ferry, Frank Lammers, he’s a pretty big deal. And there’s this interesting tidbit about the character – someone said he wants to be the first football player to play professionally in all five continents. He’s already played in Europe, it seems. I found that pretty random but cool.
Wrapping It Up
In the end, “Ferry” is more than just a crime movie. It’s about loyalty, power, and how someone can turn into a big-time criminal. If you’re into crime thrillers with a lot of action and some backstory, you should definitely check it out. I mean, I watched it in one sitting, and I don’t regret it one bit. It’s a wild ride, and it gives you a lot to think about. That’s it for my movie talk today. Hope you guys enjoyed it!
