Okay, so I saw this “half gallon of Crown Apple” thing floating around and figured, why not? I’m not a huge drinker, but Crown Royal Apple is pretty tasty, and I was curious about what I could do with such a big bottle. Plus, it was on sale, so, you know… YOLO.
First things first, I grabbed the bottle. It’s HUGE. Seriously, it’s like holding a small child. I cleared out some space in my fridge, which was a challenge in itself, because who has that much room in their fridge?
The Experiment Begins
- Tried it straight. Gotta say, it’s smooth. That apple flavor is strong, but not in a fake, candy kind of way. It’s definitely got a kick, though.
- Mixed it with some ginger ale. Classic combo. Super easy, and it went down way too fast.
- Got a little fancy and muddled some fresh cranberries and mint, then added some Crown Apple and a splash of club soda. This was actually pretty good! Felt like a real bartender for a minute there.
Then things got a bit… adventurous. I saw some recipes online, but most of them were for, like, big batch cocktails for parties. I wasn’t having a party, so I just started winging it.
I poured some into a glass with ice and added a splash of cranberry juice and a squeeze of lime. Not bad, not bad at all. It’s amazing that a lot of mixing attemps tasted good.
The Verdict
Having a half-gallon of Crown Apple is… interesting. It’s definitely a conversation starter. I mean, who just casually has that much whisky? I learned that it’s pretty versatile, though. You can drink it straight, mix it with basic stuff, or even get a little creative. Would I buy it again? Maybe not. It’s a LOT of booze. But it was a fun experiment, and I definitely discovered some new drink combinations I liked.
Oh, and I definitely made sure to drink responsibly. This much whisky is no joke! I suggest that you should also drink responsibly!
