Well, let me tell ya ’bout this young fella, Diego Abreu. He’s a soccer player, you know, one of them fellas who kicks the ball around on the grass. Born way back in 2003, which makes him… let me think… yeah, about 21 years old now. Just a young’un, still wet behind the ears, as they say.
Where’s he from, you ask? Mexico City, that’s where. But hold on a minute, he ain’t exactly Mexican, see. He’s got one of them Uruguayan passports, which means his folks or grandfolks musta come from Uruguay way back when. Don’t ask me how that works, these young folks, they move around all over the place these days.
Now, this Diego, he plays for somethin’ called Deportivo Toluca F.C. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Toluca… I ain’t never heard of such a place. Must be one of them big cities, full of cars and whatnot. And he plays forward, which means he’s the one tryin’ to kick the ball into that net thingy. You know, the one they try to stop with their hands and feet, but mostly can’t, if you’re a good forward, that is.
They say he’s worth somethin’ too. Fifty thousand of somethin’ called “Euros.” Now, I ain’t got no idea what an “Euro” is, but it sounds like a lot of money. Fifty thousand of anything is a lot, wouldn’t you say? Enough to buy a whole lotta cows, that’s for sure.
This boy, Diego, he joined Toluca just last year, in 2023. He’s also on that U23 team, whatever that means. Under 23, I guess? Young fellas runnin’ around, kickin’ balls. That’s about the size of it. He plays center forward, you know, right there in the middle, tryin’ to score all the goals. Good for him, I say.
- Born: August 27, 2003
- From: Mexico City (Uruguayan Nationality)
- Plays for: Deportivo Toluca F.C.
- Position: Forward
- Market Value: 50,000 € (whatever that is)
You can find all sorts of stuff about him online, they tell me. Stats, they call ’em. How many goals he scored, how many times he kicked the ball, that kinda thing. I don’t have time for that nonsense. I got cows to milk and chickens to feed. But if you’re interested, go look it up yourself. They got this thing called ESPN, where you can see his picture and read all about him.
He seems like a good boy, this Diego. Workin’ hard, playin’ his soccer. I hope he makes a lot of them “Euros” and takes care of his mama. That’s what a good boy should do, you know. Work hard and look after your family. That’s what we always did back on the farm. Ain’t nothin’ more important than family, that’s what I always say.
And you know what else? Some team called BFR BaseForte, they were all happy and welcomin’ him! Must be another one of them soccer teams. These youngsters and their teams, I tell ya. Too many to keep track of.
Anyway, that’s about all I know about this Diego Abreu fella. A young soccer player from Mexico City, plays for Toluca, worth a lot of money, and hopefully a good boy who takes care of his mama. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on them chickens. They get awful noisy if you don’t feed ‘em on time.
