Okay, so I’ve been meaning to put together my own list of the top 100 golf courses, just for fun. You know, like those official rankings you see online, but this one’s all mine.

First off, I grabbed my laptop and started browsing. I checked out a bunch of different websites that rank golf courses. I figured I should see what the “experts” say before making my own list. I found this one site talking about the “All Square ranking of the best golf courses in England.” That got me thinking, maybe I should focus on England first.
So, I dug deeper into those English courses. I jotted down the names of the ones that seemed cool or that I’d heard of before. “Sandwich” was one of them, apparently, it’s a big deal. Then I started thinking about the courses I’ve actually played. I wanted to rate them based on my own experience, you know?
Making My List
- I made a spreadsheet to keep track of everything.
- I listed out all the courses I could think of, both the famous ones and the hidden gems.
- Then, I started assigning each one a score out of 100. This was the hard part!
I considered things like the course design, how well it’s maintained, the scenery, and just the overall vibe. It took me a while, but I finally narrowed it down to my top 100. It was tough, a lot of back and forth, but satisfying.
After that, I typed up little descriptions for each course, kind of like a mini-review. I talked about what I liked and didn’t like, and any memorable moments I had playing there. I even threw in some pictures I took.
Finally, I put the whole thing together in a nice-looking document. It’s not perfect, and I’m sure my rankings will change over time, but it’s a start. I showed it to a few of my golfing buddies, and they got a kick out of it. They even started giving me suggestions for courses I missed. I have gone to play them to see whether it is a good place. If it is, I will add them to my list.

So yeah, that’s how I made my own personal top 100 golf courses list. It was a fun project, and it got me thinking about all the great rounds I’ve played and the ones I still want to experience.
