Okay, so I’m gonna spill the beans on my recent golf adventure in Grand Haven. Let’s just say it was a day of highs, lows, and a whole lotta sand.

First things first, I booked a tee time at a course that looked amazing online. You know how it is – lush greens, sparkling water hazards, the whole shebang. I grabbed my clubs, slapped on some sunscreen, and headed out, feeling like a pro.
Got to the first tee, feeling good. Took a practice swing, felt even better. Then, reality hit. My drive went straight into the woods. Not a great start, but hey, it happens to the best of us, right?
Spent the next few holes hacking my way through the rough, trying to avoid the water (unsuccessfully, I might add). My putting was atrocious. I swear, the ball had a personal vendetta against the hole.
But then, something magical happened on the back nine. Maybe it was the hot dog I devoured at the turn, maybe it was the sheer determination to not completely embarrass myself, but my game started to click.
I started hitting fairways, making pars, and even sinking a birdie putt! The feeling was incredible. I was actually playing golf, like, real golf!

Of course, it didn’t last. I ended the round with a double bogey on the 18th, because why not? But overall, it was a fantastic day.
Here’s the breakdown:
- The course was beautiful, even if I didn’t always appreciate it while I was playing.
- The staff was super friendly and helpful.
- My game needs some serious work, but there were moments of brilliance (or at least, not-awfulness).
Would I go back to play golf courses grand haven? Absolutely. I’m already planning my next trip. Maybe I’ll even take a lesson or two before then. Gotta get my revenge on that 18th hole!
Tips for golfing in Grand Haven:

- Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. The sun can be brutal out there.
- Don’t be afraid to ask the staff for tips on how to play the course. They know all the secrets.
- And most importantly, have fun! Even if you’re not playing your best, enjoy the scenery and the company.
