Okay, so, I set out to find the “top 100 courses in the US,” right? It sounded simple enough, but boy, was I in for a ride. I mean, there are tons of courses out there.

First, I started with the most obvious thing – checking out the latest rankings from the big names, you know, like the QS World University Rankings. Those guys are always in the know, right? They had a ton of stuff about US universities being all over the top spots globally.
Then, I dug deeper. I looked at all sorts of lists – top undergrad courses, the best courses to land a job, all that jazz. It was a lot of information to take in, honestly. I needed to narrow it down.
So I started to compare and contrast. I made a massive list of my own. One column was just courses that popped up a lot in those “top” lists. Another was stuff that seemed practical, you know, courses that would actually help someone get a good career.
- Checked university rankings for 2024.
- Explored lists of top undergraduate courses.
- Compared information to make my own list.
It got a bit messy. I ended up with way more than 100 courses. There was this one course, “The Ocean” or something, with the highest ratings and stuff. Seemed intense, but maybe not what everyone is looking for.
Narrowing It Down
I realized I needed a better system. So, I started thinking about different fields, like tech, business, arts, you name it. I grouped courses into categories to make things more organized.

Then I went through each category and picked out the ones that seemed like the best of the best, based on all the research I did. I tried to balance popularity with practicality.
Finally, after a lot of back and forth, I managed to put together a list of 100 courses that I felt were a good representation of what’s hot and useful in the US right now. It wasn’t easy, but I think I got a pretty solid list in the end.
