Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting into horses, you know? It’s always been a dream of mine, but it’s a whole other world that I know nothing about. First thing I thought was, “I gotta learn more about these magnificent creatures,” so I started looking into how I could do that without, like, actually owning a horse just yet.

Then it hit me – magazines! There’s gotta be magazines about horses, right? I mean, there are magazines about everything else. So, I did a little digging and, boy, was I right. There are tons of horse magazines out there. It was actually kind of overwhelming.
Figuring Out Where to Start
- First I just checked what horse magazines were out there – turns out, a lot!
- Then I tried to get an idea of what each one was about. Some seemed really technical, like for professional riders or breeders. Others looked more general, about horse care and riding for fun.
- I made a list of the ones that looked interesting, the ones that seemed like they’d be good for a beginner like me.
Getting My Hands on Them
Next, I looked into how to actually get these magazines. This is where subscriptions came in. I’ve never done that kind of thing before, you know. I know people can do that, but I never had. So I had to figure out how that worked.
- I checked out each magazine’s website, or so I thought. Some had, some didn’t, so I just searched for the magazine names. Most of them had a “subscribe” section somewhere.
- They all had different subscription options – monthly, yearly, digital, print… it was a lot to take in.
- I compared prices and what each subscription offered, and finally settled on one magazine that looked good and had a reasonable price for a year’s worth of issues.
Subscribing and Waiting
The subscription process itself was pretty easy. I just filled in my info, paid with my card, and that was that. Now I just had to wait for my first issue to arrive.
- The waiting was the hardest part! I was so excited to start learning.
- When the magazine finally came, it was like Christmas morning! I tore open the package and started reading right away.
- It was full of great articles, beautiful photos, and tips for people who are just getting into horses. Exactly what I was looking for.
So, yeah, that’s how I ended up subscribing to a horse magazine. It was a bit of a process, but totally worth it. I’m learning so much, and it’s getting me even more excited about hopefully getting my own horse someday. It’s a good first step, I think. I feel like I know way more than when I started just looking up stuff on the internet. The magazine feels way more, I don’t know, solid? Like real information. Anyway, I’m happy I did it!
