Alright, let’s talk about them football teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I watch the games, I see what happens.

So, this time around, the Texans, they whooped the Cowboys. Beat ’em bad, like 34 to 10. Yep, 34 to 10! That ain’t even close. Them Texans, they were runnin’ all over the place. This fella, Joe Mixon, he was like a runaway tractor, scorin’ three touchdowns! Three! And runnin’ for over a hundred yards. That’s a lot of runnin’, I tell ya. He’s been scorin’ touchdowns like crazy, ever since he got over that hurt ankle. Good for him, I say.
And the Cowboys? Well, they just couldn’t get nothin’ goin’. Their offense, it was like a rusty old truck, sputterin’ and stallin’. The Texans defense, they were tougher than a boiled owl, even scored more points than the Cowboys offense in the second half! Can you believe that? Heard tell they even took a penalty to erase some points. Silly boys, I say. Don’t know what they was thinkin’. They lost five games in a row now. Five! That’s a heap of losin’. Folks ’round here ain’t too happy ’bout that, no sir.
- Texans won, 34-10. That’s a big win.
- Joe Mixon scored three touchdowns. He ran real good.
- Cowboys lost five games in a row. They need to do better.
Now, I ain’t sure what all them fancy plays they run are called. Too much jibber-jabber for me. But I know when a team’s playin’ good and when they’re playin’ bad. And the Cowboys, they were playin’ bad. Real bad. They gotta get their act together, or they ain’t gonna win nothin’.
This game, it was played in Dallas, at that big stadium they got. ATT Stadium, they call it. Fancy place, I hear. But it didn’t do the Cowboys no good. Them Texans, they came in there and just took over. Showed them Cowboys who’s boss. And that fella Barnett, he picked up a fumble and ran it all the way back for a touchdown. Twenty-eight yards, they said! That’s gotta sting. Like gettin’ bit by a fire ant.
These two teams, they don’t play each other all that often. Every four years or so, they say. And then every eight years at each other’s home stadiums. But this year, they played ’cause they both won their divisions. That’s somethin’, I guess. But the Texans, they sure showed the Cowboys who’s the better team this time around. No doubt about it.

I remember when Houston had them Oilers. Played from 1960 to ’96, then they went off to Tennessee. Now they got the Texans, and they seem to be doin’ alright. And Dallas, well, they had that other Texans team way back in 1952, and then the Cowboys came along in 1960. Football’s been around here a long time. People love it. Me too, even if I don’t understand all them rules.
So, there you have it. The Texans beat the Cowboys. Plain and simple. The Cowboys gotta figure out what’s wrong and fix it. And the Texans, they gotta keep on doin’ what they’re doin’. That’s how you win football games, I reckon. Just gotta be tougher and faster and score more points. That ain’t rocket science, even I know that.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about football makes a body hungry.
