Okay, here’s my take on documenting my experience with the 2016 Seahawks season, written in the style of a personal blog post:

Alright, so, 2016 Seahawks. Man, that season was a rollercoaster. I remember going in with HUGE expectations. We’d been so dominant for a few years there, and it felt like another Super Bowl run was practically guaranteed. I even bought one of those “Back to Back to Back?” shirts, which… yeah, didn’t age well.
Getting Started: High Hopes
I started by basically devouring every pre-season article and podcast I could find. I mean, I was deep into it. I was checking out training camp reports, trying to figure out who was going to step up and fill the gaps left by guys who’d moved on. I felt pretty good, honestly. The defense looked solid, Russell Wilson was, well, Russell Wilson, and the offense seemed to have some new weapons.
- Watched every preseason game.
- Joined a fantasy football league. (Drafted way too many Seahawks players, naturally).
- Bought a new Seahawks hat.
The Middle: Ups and Downs
The regular season was… messy. We had some amazing wins, don’t get me wrong. Some real nail-biters that I remember yelling at the TV for. But then there were these ugly losses, games where the team just looked completely lost. The offensive line, oh man, the offensive line. It felt like Wilson was running for his life every single play. I swear, I aged about five years just watching some of those games.
I kept detailed notes on the stand out games. This way, I could more throughly analyse the games, and predict the way forward. It worked well, most of the times, but sometimes, it did get me some suprises.
The End: Disappointment
Playoffs… Ugh. We made it, which was something, I guess. But that loss to the Falcons? Brutal. It just felt like the team ran out of gas. All those injuries, the offensive line struggles, it all just caught up to us in the end. It was a real bummer, especially after all the hype at the beginning of the year.

I remember just sitting there after that game, feeling totally deflated. It was like, “That’s it? That’s how it ends?” It took me a while to get over that one, I’m not gonna lie.
Reflecting: Lessons
I learned a lot about being a fan, though. You gotta ride the highs and the lows. It will get you a lot of great moments. It’s not always going to be pretty, and sometimes it’s going to be downright painful. But, that’s part of the deal. And, hey, there’s always next season, right? (Famous last words, I know). Still, that 2016 season… it’s one I won’t forget, for better or worse.
I put my 2016 season notes on the shelf, took a deep breath, and started looking forward to what next season might bring.
