Okay, so today I wanna talk about something I’ve been messing around with recently – the NXT Tour golf balls. Yeah, I know, they’re not exactly the newest thing on the market, but hear me out.

So, I’m not a pro or anything, just your average weekend golfer, trying to shave a few strokes off my game. I’d heard some buzz about these Titleist balls, and how they’re supposed to be good for guys like me with a higher handicap.
First thing I did was jump online and do some digging. Turns out, Titleist used to make these NXT Tour balls, but they’ve actually replaced them with something called the Tour Soft. They said that they are trying to make it faster but still keep it good when you’re close to the hole.
Titleist is a big name, so I figured they must be doing something right. The NXT Tour, from what I gathered, were all about distance and control. And something about lower spin on long shots, which is supposed to help with accuracy. Sounds good, right?
But here’s the kicker: Titleist doesn’t even make the NXT Tour anymore! They’ve been discontinued. I guess the Tour Soft is their new and improved version. It is said that it might be better for slower swings.
I managed to snag a dozen of these NXT Tour balls online, though. They were selling for 45 bucks, which isn’t too bad.

Now, for the actual playing part. I took these bad boys out to the course a couple of times this past week. And you know what? I was pretty impressed. My drives did seem a bit straighter, and I definitely felt like I was getting more distance.
- First time out, I played nine holes, just to get a feel for them.
- Second time, I went for a full 18.
Around the greens, they felt decent too. Not super soft, but enough control to make those short game shots a bit less terrifying. I even managed to sink a couple of longer putts, which is always a good feeling.
All in all, I’d say the NXT Tour balls are a solid choice, especially if you can find them for a good price. Even though they’re discontinued, they still perform pretty darn well. I’m gonna keep using them for a while and see if they can help me bring that handicap down a bit more.
It’s a bummer they don’t make ’em anymore, but hey, that’s how it goes. I might have to check out those Tour Soft balls next, just to see how they compare.
So, final verdict?
If you’re a high handicapper looking for a ball that can give you some extra distance and control, the NXT Tour is worth a shot. Just remember, you might have to hunt around a bit to find them since they’re not in production anymore.

And that’s my little golfing adventure for the week. Hope it was helpful, or at least mildly entertaining! Fore!
